He depicts O`Connor as a flamboyant figure, hair shoulder-length, but with a look that is faintly uncertain despite his readiness to enter controversies, mainly those about the arts.Ulick O`Connor (b.1928) is an Irish writer, historian and critic born in Dublin and best known for his biographies of Oliver St. John Gogarty, Brendan Behan, his studies of the early 20th century Irish troubles and the Irish Literary Revival. His own autobiography, The Ulick O`Connor Diaries 1970-1981: A Cavalier Irishman (2001), is noted for documenting the progress of the Peace Process and of the Northern Ireland Assembly as well as recording his encounters with distinguished Irish and international personalities, ranging from the political, such as Jack Lynch and Paddy Devlin, to the artistic, Christy Brown and actor Peter Sellers. He is a member of Aosdána.

1913-1952. Collection of 30 Press Photographs By J. A. Cashman, Dublin Cashman was a professional photographer of 13 Manor Place, Dublin. The collection includes John Redmond & Joseph Devlin with the Northern contingent of The Irish Volunteers in the Phoenix Park 1915; Eamon de Valera addressing an anti conscription meeting in Ballaghadreen, Roscommon, De Valera and John Dillon on the platform at the same meeting; British troops leading horses at the junction of Parliament street, Easter 1916; outside Mountjoy Jail during the prisoners hunger strike in 1920: Mrs. Despard (sister of Lord French) with other prominent ladies keeping vigil and another with prominent ladies carrying posters pray for Ireland`s prisoners;" members of the Irish delegation for the first London talks with Lloyd George including Robert Barton, Eamon de Valera, Count Plunkett, Arthur Griffith and Erskine Childers etc., numerous undated photographs including de Valera with American delegates, Treaty negotiators departing Dun Laoghaire, including Arhtur Griffith, E.J. Duggan, George Gavan Duffy, etc., a later copy photo of de Valera with a moustache as a prisoner with 3 armed soldiers around him, Ernest Blythe, Larry Ginnell, Colonel Fitzmaurice, the 1913 lock out, Inspector Sharp of Wexford leaving the Shelbourne Hotel accompanied by W. Vesey Harrell after giving evidence of the Rising in Wexford & Enniscorthy at the Rebellion Inquiry, Thomas MacCurtain funeral showing Paddy Mead (ex Mayor of Cork), Larry O`Neill (Lord Mayor of Dublin), Arthur Griffith & Labour politician T.P. Daly, a copy of a press photo originally taken in 1914 showing the spot where Mrs. Duffy was killed when Scottish Borderers opened fire at a crowd on the quays; portrait photos including artist Jack B.
