Stuart Devlin (1931-2018) - an elaborate 1970s' large centrepiece bowl, consisting of a circular shallow bowl of stylish plain design with thick silver rim border and a fixed frame inside which overhangs the bowl area to half of the piece. Having attached separate silver lily pads of natural form and of slightly varying sizes with cylindrical stands attached to the centre of most lily pads holding detachable elaborate 24ct gold vermeil silver gilt lily flowers. Also included in the lot is a loose separate frame (not attached to main bowl rim), with three lily pads and a central 24ct vermeil silver gilt lily flower, of matched design to the others. The whole piece was most likely commissioned and a very limited edition design, where lily pads can be added to the bowl at owner's discretion; so it looks incomplete but originally may have been separate pieces bought to put together to create one piece. Bowl hallmarked to side for London, 1972, approx. 43.5cm diameter x 6.3cm high (excluding all separate pieces i.e. flowers etc). Together with a later Stuart Devlin small model of a sitting Frog, hallmarked London, 1973, approx. 2.3cm high. Combined total gross weight approx. 4600 grams (147.8ozt) Further details: all pieces generally in good condition; few petals and tips of lilies bent or misshapen; all pieces tarnished; slight loss to gilding to areas; no visible dents but tarnish may disguise; no signs of splits or damage.
