A pair of gem-set cufflinks by House of Fabergé, the egg-shaped terminals with fluted finish and centred with a circular-cut ruby in a yellow gold collet, signed ‘FABERGÉ’, numbered ‘1558/1’, London hallmark, maker’s case, principal egg length 16mm. £800-£1,200 --- Condition Report Very light surface wear commensurate with use. High rhodium polish. The rubies are a deep red hue and well matched (untested), one of the smaller stones with nick to the facets. Gross weight 24.3gm.
Of Royal interest: A pair of silver and enamel Princess Diana presentation cufflinks by Gerald Benney, 1995, the oval panels with blue guilloché enamel decoration and engraved with the monogram of Diana, Princess of Wales, to chain connectors and lozenge-shaped terminals, mounted in silver, maker’s mark ‘AGB’, London hallmark, maker’s case, panel length 21mm. £400-£600 --- Condition Report General surface wear commensurate with use, some scratches to the enamel and some nicks to the silver edging. The case lid with Princess Diana gilt monogram, to the interior, the cufflinks insert is missing, the velvet lining partially lost and lifting away from the base. Gross weight 10gm.
