Ltd, Birmingham 1915, plain, engraved with an armorial, 8.8cm (3.5in) long, 109g, in a case from Asprey & Co.; with a handwritten note with the printed address '12, Beaufort House, Chelsea, S. W. 3.' to a Mr Haag, presenting this case, signed 'Josiah C. Wedgwood' and dated 22.12.24. The arms of Col. Josiah Clement Wedgwood, later 1st Baron Wedgwood, sometimes referred to as Josiah Wedgwood IV (1872-1943) was a Liberal and Labour politician who served in government under Ramsay MacDonald. He was the great-great-grandson of the famous potter Josiah Wedgwood
