The Complete Angler, 2 parts in 1, second Bagster edition, illustrated half-title, 2 engraved portraits and 12 plates, 2 of music, illustrations of fish, occasional light offsetting, handsomely bound in turquoise morocco, by Rivière & Son, covers with 3 inset oval panels each containing a different fish formed of moulded calf and painted in watercolours with riverside backgrounds, the surrounds elaborately tooled in gilt evoking a pond with water and reeds below floral or leafy sprays (flowers on upper cover, oak leaves and acorns on lower) and small onlays of citron, green, red and purple morocco depicting waterlilies and flowers, with gilt pointillé background (dense rising to scattered), spine in six compartments and five raised bands, two compartments with title and author in gilt and date at foot, the others tooled in gilt with leaves and small flowers in red and purple onlays, painted calf doublures reproducing the plates of 'The Chub to be dressed' at front and 'Scene in the Fishing House' at rear within intricate gilt border and surrounded by gilt floral tooling and small onlays to corners similar to spines, signed at foot of front panel, t.e.g., others uncut, 8vo (c.230 x 150mm.), Samuel Bagster, 1815.
