AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY WELSH OAK CHEST ON CHEST, the upper part with moulded cornice above a frieze inlaid with three shell motifs with two short and three long graduated drawers beneath flanked by quadrant angle pilasters, the lower part having three long graduated drawers with turned wooden knob handles throughout, the whole raised on bracket feet. Width 42". Height 81".
A George III mahogany secretaire chest on chest with dentil moulded stepped cornice above two short and three long graduated cockbeaded drawers, enclosed by blind fret carved canted angles, the fall front secretaire drawer revealing an interior of six drawers, four compartments arranged around a moulded panel door above two further long cockbeaded drawers, all with brass swan neck handles, on shaped bracket feet, 118cm x 189cm.
An Unusual 18th Century Joined Oak Chest on Stand. The top measuring 49 ins x 23 ins (125 cms x 58 cms) above nick carved moulding strip incorporating a brushing slide, and two long lipmoulded drawers. The deep moulded base having three further small drawers framed in cock-beading and fitted into an ogee shaped fret carved apron outlined in edge moulding with unusual shaped and moulded feet. The drawers retaining their original cast brass Rococo scrolling swing handles on foliate mounts ornamented with peacocks, with matching escutcheons, 40 1/2 ins (103 cms) in height.
A Fine 18th Century Burr Walnut Chest on Chest with secretaire. The upper chest having a cavetto moulded top above three small top drawers over three long graduated drawers enhanced with herringbone inlay framed in cross-banded borders and edged on lip moulding, flanked by stop-fluted canted sides. The lower chest having four long similarly banded & lipmoulded drawers; the hinged front of secretaire drawer unhooking to form a writing surface with banks of drawers and pigeon holes flanking a small cabinet to the back. Standing 40 ins (102 cms) wide and 75 1/2 ins (192 cms) tall on bracket feet.
A Fine George I Figured Walnut Veneered Chest on Stand. The chest having a cavetto moulded top above three small upper drawers and three further long graduated drawers; all with lip moulded edges and diagonally grained stringing inlaid in twin bands to the borders and echoed down the canted sides. The base section having a central shallow drawer flanked by small deeper side drawers fitted into the scrolling apron with similarly inlaid stringing and swept canted corners. Standing on cabriole legs with pad feet 41 ins (104 cms) wide and 70 ins (178 cms) in height.
