A Royal Crown Derby vase and cover, dated 1896, of urn form with fluted neck in blue and gilt, the body decorated with a floral spray on a white ground; together with a Meissen two handled vase and a small spherical vase enriched with floral studies; and a Carlton Ware dragon vase. Crown Derby 23.5cm.

The vase being sold here is particularly significant. The pattern from which it was copied is illustrated in Swansea Porcelain Shapes and Decoration by A E (Jimmy) Jones and Sir Leslie Joseph published by D Brown & Sons Ltd Cowbridge 1988 page 177 pattern 219.
Garden Gate a Carlton Ware vase pattern no.3863 designed by Violet Elmer circa 1934 a Spring pattern jug a Rock Garden Aztec shape dish and a Curled Lettuce Salad ware sauce boat and stand printed script mark 11cm. high Another inspiration for Clives collection was an Aztec shape green ground Rock Garden dish and a Curled Lettuce tray discovered in the proverbial dusty attic of his family home in Swansea in the early 1970s. Clive clearly recollected these pieces from his childhood and they still evoked the same frisson of fun and enjoyment. The pieces had been a wedding present to his parents.
