An early 20th century crested ware First World War WWI tank by Carlton China bearing crest for Christchurch with notation reading The Victory Of Justice Armistice Of The Great War Signed Nov 11th 1918 The British Tank Gave Them Hell At The Marne 1918 with red HMLS to top. GEORGE IV: (1762-1830) King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland 1820-30. D.S., George P R, as Prince Regent, at the head, one page, oblong Folio, Court at Carlton House 16th February 1813. The partially printed document, on vellum, is a military commission appointing Jonathan Brown to be a Major in the 75th (Highland) Regiment of Foot command by Sir Robert Abercromby. Countersigned by Viscount Sidmouth (1757-1844, Home Secretary and British Prime Minister 1801-04). With blind embossed paper seal affixed. Some overall age ware and light blue staining to a few areas at the extreme edges of the document. FR
A garniture of three Carlton Ware vases, decorated with fruiting trees against a deep blue ground, tallest 24cm (3) CONDITION REPORT: Some crazing throughout, some minor enamel scratching and gilding wear but generally all appear to be in good order with no obvious chips, cracks or restoration.
A Carlton Ware Art Deco fourteen piece part coffee service, decorated with the cobweb and spider pattern against a mottled green ground, coffee pot 19cm (14 pieces + two lids) CONDITION REPORT: None of the pieces have any visible chips or restoration, all of the pieces are crazed, in some places very heavily (see images) gilding has tarnished in places, one cup is missing. It is difficult to detect if any hailines have developed from the crazing due to gilt interiors. See additional images.
Boer War patriotic style pottery match striker. This example of cream pottery is decorated to the front with a colour transfer depicting the head and shoulders of Lord Roberts. He is flanked by two solders wearing khaki uniform and holding rifles with bayonets fixed. To the reverse are two further colour transfers depicting Lord Kitchener and Sir Redvers Buller. The base with the maker's details of Carlton Ware. Transfers remain clear. GC.
