The distillery lies close to Balmoral Castle and used to be a main ingredient in VAT 69 but is now primarily used for Malt. In original carton. Level low neck. Excellent condition. Glenkinchie 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. OB. 75cl. 43% abv. An older style bottling of the lowland malt in the Classic Malts range. Level mid-low neck. A few creases on the lid and top section of the box. Excellent condition.

VICTORIA: (1819-1901) Queen of the United Kingdom Great Britain & Ireland 1837-1901. A.L.S., The Queen, in the third person, three pages (the adjoining leaves neatly split in two at the central vertical fold), 8vo, Balmoral, 8th September 1873, to Captain Haig, on black bordered mourning stationery featuring a vignette of Balmoral Castle. The Queen writes, in full, 'As the Queen may not have an opportunity again of speaking to Captain Haig, she wishes to write & congratulate him on his intended marriage with Miss Harris, which she trusts will secure their mutual happiness through this uncertain life. The Queen wld. have offered her sincere good wishes to Captain Haig the other eveg: had she not been told that he did not wish the Engagement to be announced as yet. But she does not wish to delay doing so till after he has left'. VG
An ATCO Balmoral 20SK cylinder petrol lawn mower CONDITION REPORTS We can make no guarantees as to whether or not mower is working nor whether complete. Externally it has some general wear and scuffs and the blade has wear, flaking to paint and rusting. Overall, however, appears reasonably tidy (please see photos for examples).
A RARE VICTORIAN ENGRAVED CASTLE TOP VINAIGRETTE of shaped rectangular outline with rounded ends & a view of the old castle at Balmoral*, on the cover, gilt interior, by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1851; 1.8" (4.8 cms) long; 0.6 oz *Queen Victoria & Prince Albert bought the lease of the old castle in 1848 & purchased the property in 1852. Finding the residence too small, a new place (the current Balmoral) was built. Construction began in 1853 & was completed in 1856. Sold with a photocopy of an old print, formerly in the possession of the Farquharsons of Balmoral.
PRINCE LEOPOLD: (1853-1884) Duke of Albany, son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Leopold was diagnosed with haemophilia as a child which led to his death as an adult at the untimely age of 30. Small series of three A.Ls.S., Leopold, nine pages (total), 8vo, Balmoral Castle, 8th June and 24th October 1881 and n.d., each to Mr. Kennard. In the first letter the Prince apologizes for not having answered his correspondent's letter earlier regarding 'the good news that Coutts had taken up the debentures' and hoping that 'no time will be lost in commencing the buildings at Old Windsor', in the second letter the Prince states that his fears about not being able to accept an invitation have come true, explaining 'I have to go abroad about the 11th on family business of importance. But please don't tell anybody of this as I do not wish anything to be known about my journey abroad' and further suggesting alternative dates for a meeting before he goes to the Isle of Wight for Christmas, and in the third letter the Prince asks Kennard if he will meet him at the Marlborough Club before going to the Beefsteak together. Together with Robert Hawthorn Collins (1841-1908) Private Tutor to Prince Leopold, and later Comptroller of his household. A.L.S., R. H. Collins, four pages, 8vo, Claremont, 25th October n.y. (1881), to Mrs. Kennard. Collins states that he has returned from a hurried visit to Balmoral and that the Duke of Albany has written to Mr. Kennard expressing his regret at not being able to attend a ball, further commenting on alternative arrangements before Christmas, or in January, and listing several individuals whom Prince Leopold would like to meet, before concluding by referring to the Prince, 'He seems very well & I think that the journey to Germany (which is a great secret) will result in something important' and Queen Victoria, 'We are safe not to have this date interfered with as I mentioned it to the Queen myself, & she gave her consent'. Letters of Prince Leopold are scarce following his early death. Some light foxing to one letter, otherwise VG, 4 £200-300
Victorian Music Box Photograph Album, being a leather bound example produced in Germany, with gilt tooled decoration to the cover, titled “The Balmoral Album”. Dated to the inside 1895. Complete with cabinet photographs to the inside. Back of the album has music box which is activated by the brass album catch fixing. Music box is in working order. Album remains in generally good condition. 37 images inside the album.
GEORGE V: (1865-1936) King of the United Kingdom 1910-36. D.S., George R. I., as King, at the head, three pages, folio, Court at Balmoral, 8th October 1920. The partially printed document is a Licence issued to Sir Cecil Harcourt Smith, allowing him to wear the Cross of Officer of the Belgian Order of the Crown, the honour having been conferred upon him by the King of the Belgians 'in recognition of valuable services rendered by you during the War'. Countersigned at the conclusion by Edward Shortt (1862-1935) British Lawyer and Politician, Home Secretary 1919-22. With blind embossed seal. Accompanied by three related T.Ls.S., one from a member of the Foreign Office transmitting the Royal Warrant and the other two from Belgian officials. Some light age wear and tears to the edges of two of the letters (G), the document VG, 4

It is quite impossible for me to express what my feelings are of how my heart bleeds for you! To me - to my country - to India, the loss of your most distinguished husband is immense and after the first dreadful horrors of anguish, It will be soothing to you to hear how he was valued and respected! That God may in his infinite mercy sustain and comfort you as he alone can, the widowed and bleeding heart is the sincere prayer of yours truly and sympathisingly Victoria R.I.'.
