A lovely Egyptian faience bead necklace, Late Period, ca. 664 - 332 BC. It is 20 inches long and is comprised of fine faience tubular and disk beads in a nice variety of colors. A beautiful 16 mm long Rhyolite Eye of Horus wedjat, an amulet to protect against evil, is used as a pendant. (E110)

New Kingdom, 1550-1070 BC. A substantial translucent chalcedony heart, ib, amulet with ribbed suspension loop above.Cf. Andrews, C., Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, item 66(b), for type.3.41 grams, 22mm (1"). From an early 20th century Home Counties, UK, collection.For the ancient Egyptians, the heart, Ib, was the source of intelligence, feelings and actions. A person's memory was also housed in the heart and so at the judgement ceremony, known as the Weighing of the Heart, which took place in the Halls of Amduat in the presence of Osiris, the heart was able to speak on behalf of the deceased, accounting to Osiris for a lifetime of deeds. Therefore, heart amulets were only used on the mummy to protect the owner's organ and to ensure that his heart gave a positive response at judgement. Very fine condition.

The purpose of the pins was to fasten the shoulder-straps of the hangeroc, a pinafore dress, to the kirtle beneath. [4] Fine condition.
