A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE FIGURE OF BUDAI HE SHANG EARLY 20TH CENTURY He sits in a relaxed pose with a cheerful expression on his face, dressed in bright turquoise and cherry-coloured robes decorated with blossoms and abstract designs, he holds a string of beads in one hand and a large sack in the other, the base with a four character impressed mark, together with a wood stand, 25.5cm high. (2) Provenance: from an English private collection, acquired in Asia c.1920, and thence by descent.
A SAFAVID GOMBROON WARE BOWL 17TH/18TH CENTURY The well with a circular raised boss painted with black stars, the medallion surrounded by underglaze blue prongs and further black stars, with a pierced abstract design to the cavetto, the rim painted with clusters of four black dots, decorated in a white glaze which stops short of the straight foot, 18.9cm. Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, purchased from E & H Manners on 5th October 1992. A copy of the invoice is available. Cf. Christie's London, 17th April 2007, lot 6 for a very similar Gombroon bowl; see also Sotheby's London, 6th October 2010, lot 210 for another example; see also the Victoria & Albert Museum, museum no.C.1956-1910 for a related bowl.
A silver and silver gilt commemorative chess set Cyril Endfield, London 1973, each composed of abstract chess figures, the pawns contained in a plexi-glass tube, with the remaining pieces forming the outer case(Length: 24cm, combined weight: 15.8oz)Footnote: The chess set is an example of the official commemorative chess set for the 1972 chess match between the American player Bobby Fischer and the Russian Boris Spassky. The set was originally made in a limited edition of six, followed by a number of unsigned sets G S. May Esquire Private Collection.
A late 1960's Danish Georg Jensen silver and green enamel abstract brooch, designed by Henning Koppel, design no. 315, 37mm, gross 17.1 grams, with Jensen box.CONDITION: R.E.P. 1982 engraved on the back of the brooch. A few very minor scratches to the metal commensurate with some use. Enamel in good order. Marks clear.

Three seals of the artist impressed on the painting.On the back of the picture the title of the painting is noted in pencil and the date given: „The Moon is Bright in the Homeland, 1988“ (yue shi guxiang ming, 1988). A River of South China flowing amidst tall pines shines bright in the moonlight diving the whole painting into a fresh blue color. Chen Xiangxun was born in Hangzhou in 1956 and lives and works there. He specialized in painting landscapes in a very abstract traditional style with color as the main mean of expression. Huang-Anhänger, Nephrit-Jade, China, um 1900 Gebogener Amulett-Anhänger mit je einem Drachen-Emblem (kui-long) an den Enden. Trefflich abstrahierte Köpfe mit fein gearbeiteten Gesichtszügen. Die ineinander übergehenden Drachenkörper mit Lei-wen-Dekor. Der symmetrische Anhänger oben mittig mit zwei phönixähnlichen Vögeln. An der Bogenunterseite ein weiterer Drachen mit zwei Körpern. Dieser Huang-Typus gehört zu den sechs traditionellen Ritual-Jaden der chinesischen Frühzeit. Gelbbraune Nephrit-Jade mit Spuren von Verkrustungen. Intakt. Länge 15,1 cm. Provenienz: Aus süddeutscher Sammlung, erworben vom Vater in den 1920er und 1930er Jahren in China. Zustand: II A Chinese jade Huang-pendant, circa 1900 Curved amulet pendant with a dragon emblem (kui-long) at each end. Exquisitely abstract heads with finely worked facial features. The merging dragon bodies with Lei-wen decoration. The symmetrical pendant in the top centre with two phoenix-like birds. On the underside of the arch another dragon with two bodies. This Huang type belongs to the six traditional ritual jades of the early Chinese art. Yellow-brown nephrite jade with traces of incrustations. Intact. Length 15.1 cm. Provenance: From a South German family collection, acquired by the father in China in the 1920s and 1930s. Condition: II
