A Pair of 19th Century 40 Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistols by Joseph Manton, London, each with 6.5cm turn-off round steel barrel bearing traces of bluing and engraved around the muzzle with leaf tips, no visible proof marks, signed cylindrical box lock with slide safety, concealed trigger and chequered walnut bag butt, 16cm, in an oak case, the hinged cover inset with brass roundel and with brass screwheads to the border, the inner cover set with maker's paper label, lined in green velvet and fitted with accessories including a copper powder flask, a turnkey with lignum vitae handle, a steel barrel key and bullet mouldActions work, hold at full and half cock. Black patching to the metalwork. Barrels with marks where they have been turned off. One barrel with traces of bluing, this pistol also has an indented mark to each side of the neck of the hammer, with small pinhead size marks to the underside and a wrench mark to the barrel. Each pistol has small chips to the grip where the lock fits and with bruising to the pommel. There are no proof marks to the barrels.

A William & Mary ebonised eight-day, bell striking, bracket clock, John Wrench, Chester, the caddy top with gilt handle and pierced and engraved repoussé worked caddy, the case with canted corners, gilt metal mounted with arched glass to the sides, on claw and ball feet fitted a four-pillar two-train fusee movement with verge escapement, the brass dial with signed silver chapter ring, and an engraved signed back plate, the case 38cm high/Note: Baillie records John Wrench, Chester, 1690-1717/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: 27th April 2017:- Full mechanical overhaul, including replacement of strike mainspring, silver solder repair to locking arbour, replacement locking wheel, 2 pivots straightened, new knife edge to verge, new pendulum rod and bob, new pendulum lock, repair to calendar ring and new teeth cut to fit, calendar wheel re-cut and new collet and post made, all pivots burnished, 4 bushes to strike, 4 bushes to going, strike silent lever made and fitted, screw heads recut as original, new case bolt made, new lock to front door, dial cleaned and re-silvered, movement polished and cleaned, replacement gut lines fitted etc.There are two spare holes to the left hand side of the backplate, otherwise complete. The front plate has one small hole opposite lower hole on backplate. Clock is at present in working order and has been for many years at the vendors property. Condition otherwise good.
H.W Mortimer & Co (Maker's to His Majesty) cased pair of percussion target pistols, with bolted percussion locks, saw-handled grips, spur-trigger guards, in overall fine condition with re-browned octagonal barrels, swamped at muzzle, contained in the original green velvet-lined oak case with accessories: original pistol flask, cleaning rods, bullet mould, with interesting combination screwdriver and nipple wrench which unscrews to reveal a percussion cap reservoir, original lead balls (small quantity), circular mahogany cap box and a quantity of original percussion caps. This pair has been converted from flintlocks by John Manton and Son around 1826. Note: Collection of a gentleman, one of the first members of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain originally purchased for £10,000.

This rare jukebox has a pink 1957 Ford Thunderbird style fiberglass body with a white top that fits flush against a wall. It currently has 6 of the 80 Slots for 45 rpm vinyl records full and the same number of the label Slots on either side of the mechanism and thus offers up to 160 selections. It uses a German mechanism, Model ES-2 NSM to select the records. There are lights behind the chrome trimmed tail lights and a standard size license plate holder. There is a sealed manila envelope attached to the inside with the tubular wrench the factory supplied. Two keys are in their factory location, screwed to the rail on the back of the unit. Serial No. 2031. When this particular Songbird Jukebox was manufactured in December 1988, by Carson City Parlour of Shakopee, Minnesota, it was made without a coin mechanism and is being consigned by the original owner. He had it on display in his retail store, not being used, for 10 years and then in climate controlled storage for the last 20 years! These are becoming more and more scarce as international collectors have become attracted and you simply will not find another unused example. Height: 131 cm. Width: 175 cm. Depth: 84 cm. dating: about 1855 provenance: Paris, Octagonal, rifled, 8 mm cal. barrel, signed 'Houllier Blanchard à Paris', browned and finely engraved at the base and at the nozzle, with foresight; engraved and browned six-shot cylinder, with serial number '13xx'. Lock plate engraved and with the same serial number. Flat hammer. Lever to quickly remove the barrel and change the cylinder. Folding trigger. Saw-butt with checkered and carved wooden grips. Kept in a burgundy velvet-lined wooden case, with a (defective) iron ramrod/nipple wrench and a rare brass powder-tester with scale wheel and wooden grip. A CASED SILVER-MOUNTED 12 BORE D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN BY JOSEPH EGG, LONDON, NO. 2505, LONDON SILVER HALLMARKS FOR 1820, MARK OF MICHAEL BARNETT, with rebrowned twist sighted barrel signed ~Joseph Egg No. 1, Piccadilly, London~ in script and ~Inventor of copper caps~ in capitals on the rib, struck with the serial number, the barrelsmith~s mark ~JB~ and London proof marks beneath, numbered breeches inlaid with two pairs of platinum lines and with engraved platinum plugs (nipples removed), engraved case-hardened breech tang decorated with scrolling foliage, engraved case-hardened locks signed in script and fitted with hammers en suite, figured walnut half-stock with chequered fore-end and grip, full silver mounts engraved with dense scrolls of foliage comprising trigger-guard with the serial number on the tang and a lionhead on the bow, butt-plate, rear ramrod-pipe, vacant oval escutcheon and barrel bolt escutcheons, engraved blued steel trigger-plate with pineapple finial, brass-tipped ramrod, and some early finish: in its contemporary fitted case, perhaps by Alexander Henry, lined in pigskin (small tears and scuffs, trade label missing, compartment tray tabs and barrel tabs replaced) the exterior with vacant brass shield-shaped escutcheon, complete with some accessories including embossed copper flask by G. & J. W. Hawksley decorated with scrolling foliage and fitted with graduated nozzle and spring cut-off, percussion cap dispenser by the same, embossed leather shot-flask by James Dixon & Sons, decorated with a game vignette and with spring cut-off, three burnished steel two-way flasks, contained in a fitted tray; two mainspring clamps, two turnscrews and a nipple-wrench, combination turnscrew, nipple-wrench and pricker, loading rod and cleaning tools, 76.2 cm barrels¦¦Joseph Egg is recorded at no. 1 Piccadilly 1814-34. His copper-cap percussion-lock musket was tried and rejected by the Ordnance in 1820. ¦¦This appears to be the latest recorded work of the gunmaker~s silversmith, Michael Barnett.
