* Five German porcelain cups or teabowls and saucers, including Wallendorf, variously decorated with landscapes, a piano and figures beside water, and a Zurich teabowl and saucer painted with an oriental design in iron red, various marks, 18th century, 13.6cm max. (12) Provenance: from a distinguished private European collection.
A Berlin two-handled chocolate cup and cover, painted with vignettes of figures and boats, a Copenhagen cup and saucer decorated with figures in landscaped gardens, a Nymphenburg plate, a Wallendorf coffee can, a German porcelain cup and saucer, a Chinese teabowl and saucer of a ship sailing the Swedish flag, and a Chinese cup painted with a bird, 18th and 19th centuries, some damages. (11) From the collection of Anthony Ray (1926-2009), ceramic historian. The Chinese teabowl and saucer in this lot is believed to have been part of a service shipped by the Swedish East India Company.
A pair of Thuringian candlesticks probably Wallendorf circa 1775 each with moulded panels to the rims painted with flower sprigs alternating with a yellow ground below moulded scrolls and cartouches painted with birds the shaft with acanthus-moulded base shaded in puce rising to a knop with similar birds below the sconce painted with insects and flowers crossed swords mark and asterisk in underglaze-blue incised 6./B. and impressed AB over incised b. respectively 25.5cm. 10in. scattered wear overall to gilding (2)
