The required features included in the Type XX specifications were that the watches had to have a black dial, registers situated at 3 and 9 for constant seconds and a minute recording register, flyback for the chronograph while running and a diameter of approximately 38mm.The Breguet Type XX has become one of the most famous due to the fact they re-issued it as a civilian watch both at the time and as a reproduction more recently. However it was Mathey-Tissot who assembled the original 5101/54 model for Breguet. The current example signed by Mathey Tissot was a civilian version and is ultimately much rarer than the Type XXs signed Breguet. Everything about the watch was produced to the same spec and by the same manufacturers.
