An Arthur Simpson of Kendal stool, oak, with latticework leather top and tapered legs of square section. Width 40.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The leather strapwork is original but not in particularly good condition. Two of the straps are broken and there is rubbing and wear to the others. The frame is structurally sound and there is no woodworm. What you cannot see from our image is that the rear stretcher similar to that which you can see on the front is completely missing.
An upholstered stool, originally supplied by Harrods, with loose cushion and raised on four turned legs on brass castors. Base dimensions 101 cm x 61 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The stool is structurally sound. There are no loose joints. The cushion has some water staining marks to one side. The other side has approximately six small liquid stains. The corded base is in good condition. The sides are in good order also with no significant wear. When the stool is turned upside down there is a water stain to the underside webbing, it looks as if something has been spilt onto the top surface and soaked through. There is however no staining on the top surface of the stool. One of the four corner tassels is stretched and slightly loose.
A Victorian piano stool, having an upholstered revolving adjustable top supported upon a bulbous column, flanked by bobbin turned columns with bun feet. Height 67 cm, diameter 35 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The brass screw is not tight. The threads within the barrel are significantly worn. The upholstery is in generally good order. The seat frame beneath the upholstery is a little marked but has no significant issues. The centre turned column and four surrounding columns are in good order. The base beneath has originally been cruciform however there are quadrants let in between each section. The turned bun feet are in good order.
