? A carved white marble fountain late 19th century 147cm.; 58ins wide Provenance: This marble fountain was removed from The Pheasantry, 152 Kings Road London. A Historic Georgian building originally used to raise pheasants for the royal household, it`s had many distinguished residents including Australian artist Martin Sharp, Augustus John and Annigoni Later the Pheasantry nightclub was the venue for early UK gigs by Lou Reed, Queen (band) and Hawkwind, among others, and was the place where singer Yvonne Elliman was discovered by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, leading to her role in the original soundtrack recording of Jesus Christ Superstar Eric Clapton lived on the top floor in the late 1960`s. In his latest autobiography he tells of visits from George Harrison where they would take acid and write songs. The fountain is inspired by the one in The Court of the Lions in the main court of the Nasrid Palace of the Lions. It is located in the heart of the Alhambra, the Moorish citadel formed by a complex of palaces, gardens and forts in Granada, Spain. It was commissioned by the Nasrid king Muhammed V, Sultan of Granada. Its construction started in the second period of his reign, between 1362 and 1391 CE
DIETRICH MARLENE: (1901-1992) German-born American Actress & Singer. Vintage signed and inscribed sepia 8 x 10 photograph, a glamorous half length shot of Dietrich wearing a shimmering dress. Signed in blue fountain pen ink, partially across a darker area of the image although perfectly legible. VG
RAT PACK THE: A page removed from an autograph album individually signed in blue ink by both Frank Sinatra (1915-1998, American Singer and Actor, Academy Award winner) and Sammy Davis Jr. (1925-1990, American Entertainer). A scarce combination of signatures by two members of The Rat Pack. Very slight show through from the signature to the verso. VG.
DEPP JOHNNY: (1963- ) American Actor. Two signed colour 8 x 10 photographs, each depicting Depp in different poses in costume as Captain Jack Sparrow from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean films. Both are signed in bold black ink with his name alone to light areas of the images. Together with a signed card by Duncan James (1978- , English Singer with the boy band Blue). All three are individually matted and framed and glazed to varying sizes. VG to EX, 3
CALLOWAY CAB: (1907-1994) American Jazz Singer and Bandleader. Vintage signed and inscribed sepia 10 x 8 photograph of Calloway standing on a stage in a full length pose before his orchestra. The publicity photograph, for Cab Calloway and his Cotton Club Orchestra, has been signed in blue fountain pen ink by the musician across a light area of the image. Vintage signed programme, the 4to printed programme for a performance by Sinatra at the Gaumont Theatre, Hammersmith, London, 3rd June 1962, in aid of two children`s charities. Signed by Sinatra with his name alone in bold blue fountain pen ink to an inside page opposite his image. Together with an official 4to printed souvenir programme for a performance by entertainer Sammy Davis Jr., signed by him in blue fountain pen ink to the front cover across his image. G to VG, 2
PRESLEY ELVIS: (1935-1977) American Rock `n` Roll Singer. Signed colour album record sleeve for You`ll Never Walk Alone, featuring an image of Presley in a half length pose singing into a microphone. Signed in blue ink with his name alone to a clear area. Professionally matted in white alongside the disc and framed and glazed in a black and gold coloured frame to an overall size of 34 x 22. Some creasing to the right edge and corner of the sleeve, not affecting the signature, and with small authentication sticker in lower right corner. G to about VG

Vintage signed colour single record sleeve for the songs Wear My Ring Around Your Neck and Doncha` Think It`s Time, featuring a head and shoulders portrait of Presley. Signed in bold black ink with his name alone across a light area of the cover. Professionally matted in brown cloth alongside a large colour image of the singer and various smaller images (including a postage stamp, badge etc.) and framed and glazed in a brown frame to an overall size of 34 x 25. Some very slight age wear to the edges of the sleeve, otherwise VG.

JACKSON MICHAEL: (1958-2009) American Pop Singer. T.L.S., Michael Jackson, one page, 4to, n.p. (Oxford?), 7th March 2001, to Fred Wharton at Christ Church College, Oxford, on the printed stationery of Heal the Kids. Jackson thanks Wharton for his help in arranging a special viewing of Christ Church and adds `I was sorry to have to forgo the opportunity but, as you know, my injury coupled with the security concerns made it rather impossible for me to take up your kind offer of a private tour.` Jackson continues `I must say that I was very much looking forward to viewing the dinning (sic)hall and seeing the windows inspired by Alice in Wonderland.` Scarce in this form. One very light, minor stain to the right edge, not affecting the text or signature, otherwise VG. Jackson delivered a speech to students at Oxford University on 6th March 2001. The subject of the Oxford Union address was his new iniative Heal the Kids. In the speech Jackson stated `The walls of Oxford have not only housed the greatest philosophical and scientific geniuses-they have also ushered forth some of the most cherished creators of children`s literature, from J.R.R. Tolkien to C.S. Lewis. Today I was allowed to hobble into the dining hall in Christ Church to see Lewis Carroll`s Alice in Wonderland immortalised in the stained glass windows.`
[JACKSON MICHAEL]: (1958-2009) American Pop Singer. A rare, small selection of perhaps a dozen strands of Jackson`s singed hair, some fragmented, obtained immediately following the pop star`s ill fated performance during the filming of a Pepsi Cola commercial on 27th January 1984. The hair is contained in a small plastic wallet affixed to a certificate of authenticity. Accompanied by an extensive series of papers providing provenance to the hair which was originally collected by the commercial`s executive producer Ralph Cohen of Giraldi Productions, including an interesting transcript of Cohen in conversation and recollecting the events which led to Jackson`s accident, stating that he was the second person to rush to the singer`s aid. Also included is a signed colour 7.5 x 9.5 photograph by Jackson showing him standing in a three quarter length pose. Signed and dated in bold red ink across a light area of the background. A highly unusual souvenir of the King of Pop. G to VG, 2. . . . . On 27th January 1984, Michael Jackson and other members of the Jacksons filmed a Pepsi Cola commercial at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. During the simulated concert, in front of thousands of fans, pyrotechnics accidentally set Jackson`s hair on fire and he received second degree burns to his scalp.

LIND JENNY: (1820-1887) Swedish Opera Singer, known as the Swedish Nightingale. A.L.S., Jenny Goldschmidt, four pages, 8vo, Hamburg, 6th February 1855, to Madame Gonne, in German (untranslated). Together with a second A.L.S., Jenny Lind, four pages, 8vo, Stuttgart, 13th November 1846, to an unidentified correspondent, in German (untranslated). Also including Otto Goldschmidt (1829-1907) German Composer, Conductor and Pianist, husband of Jenny Lind. Three A.Ls.S., Otto Goldschmidt, eleven pages (total), 8vo, Wimbledon Park & South Kensington, 1868-98, one to the English Composer and Pianist William Sterndale Bennett (1816-1875) and two to Bennett`s son. In the first, lengthy letter Goldschmidt discusses the Royal Academy of Music, the professors, students and class structures and in the other letters Goldschmidt refers to a manuscript for a Concerto for Pianoforte by William Sterndale Bennett and also briefly mentions a conversation with Arthur Sullivan. One of Lind`s letters is completely, although neatly, split in two across the central horizontal fold, and both have light overall age wear. Goldschmidt`s letters are in fine condition. FR to VG, 5
BATTLE OF BRITAIN: A printed 4to souvenir programme for the Battle of Britain Ball held at Grosvenor House, London, 4th October 1974, signed to clear areas of the front cover, which features an image of two Spitfire aircraft in flight, by eight Battle of Britain pilots including Douglas Bader, Johnnie Johnson, Paddy Barthropp, Hugh Dundas, Alan Deere, Jeffrey Quill, Christopher Foxley Norris etc., also signed by the singer Vera Lynn. With original gold tassle. VG

After John Singer Sargent 1856-1925, 20/21st century- "Sir Frank Swettenham"; oil on canvas, originally executed in 1904. Note: The original portrait of the colonial administrator Sir Frank Swettenham was commissioned in 1903 from the leading society portraitist of the time, the American artist John Singer Sargent, by the Malay Straits Association of London. This portrait of Swettenham by Sargent began as a copy of the original portrait by one of Sargent`s copyists but Sargent took over the painting and Swettenham gave fresh sittings. He is shown surrounded by accessories evoking his Far Eastern career.
