BERNARD CUZNER, A SILVER CADDY SPOON unmarked, the deep bowl to an engraved tab handle, 8cm long, 21g gross. This was made for John, Bernard's son, and his wife, Mary. Provenance: From the Estate of Bernard Cuzner and other family members and thence by descent. These pieces were made by Bernard for himself or other family members and hence in the main unmarked.
A SMALL LOADED FOOTED BOWL stamped 'La Pierre' and 'Sterling'; a silver inscribed egg cup; four Queen pattern dessert forks, stamped 'Sterling'; a silver teaspoon; a silver coffee spoon; a hairbrush; a silver scent bottle sleeve; a small silver trophy cup; and some Eastern spoons; 106g (3.4 troy ozs) gross weighable hallmarked silver.
A quantity of metalware to include 'Retour de Chasse' after A Moreau, a patinated brass figure of blindfolded girl, table centrepiece with red glass bowl and four trumpets, three miniature miners' lamps, Stanley of London brass-cased compass, small chamber stick, two-division wine cooler, silver-plated bottle coaster etc.
A collection of maritime silver-plated ware to include an Anchor Line loving cup, a similar D McBrone Ltd vessel, a twin-handled porringer with sigil, a P&O sugar bowl, five Cunard Line napkin rings, each numbered and further silver-plated flatware to include P&O starter knives, Manchester Liners fish knives, Prince Line large and small knives, sauce ladles etc.
A 14th century Fars brass bowl, with interlaced decoration to the rim, the body engraved with oval cartouches with thuluth prayer inscriptions interspersed with rondels containing a seated ruler flanked by attendants, above bands of trefoil palmettes, with several inscriptions relating to previous owner's 'Owned by Ghiath Ad-Din Mohammad bin Hajji Mohammad Mo'men', then part scratched out and replaced with 'ya hafeez' and another 'Owned by Abu Mohsen', originally inlaid with gold and silver, traces of gold and black composition visible, West Iran, Ilkhanid period, 23.5cm diameter.
