A silver oval twin handled tray by William Hutton & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1923, with a raised nulled rim, the conforming loop handles issuing from foliage, engraved Denis Ward Granet on his Marriage from his loving Father & Mother September 25th 1918 beneath, 72.5cm (32 1/2in) long, 3747g (120.45 oz) Denis Ward Granet (b. 1895) served as a Lieutenant Commander (Emergency) in the Royal Navy during the Great War. Afterwards he was appointed to the command of the submarine H 47 on 24th September 1919 until 14th February 1921.
