A small Victorian rocking horse (def) Condition Report: The Horse is in good structural condition but has seem extensive wear to the hide with various bald patches present. It is also lacking the front axle but the wheels are present. It's dimensions are as follows. . Height 81 cm. length 100 cm. Width 37 cm.
LINES BROTHERS LTD; an early/mid-20th century 'Sportiboy' model rocking horse with glass eyes and white mane, on pine trestle base with stamped manufacturer's marks to hinges, 110 x 134 x 36cm.Additional InformationLacking tack, unpainted/stripped, a small chip to the tip of right ear, splits including to both sides of face. The wood in general feels quite damp and soft, chip and loss to his right rear hind quarters. Some sections to neck and legs which may have suffered from some damage, but this may be from manufacture, please refer to illustrations and request additional if necessary.
An early 20th century Ayres type carved wood dapple grey rocking horse on pine safety frame, H.130cm, L.160cmCONDITION: Lacking stirrups, the leather rein has lost an end and needs repair, the horse has lost its mane but the tail is present. The paintwork is chipped and there are losses in several areas, notably to the ears the top of the right leg, the right flank behind the saddle, the left side has wear through use and loss of paint, the pine frame is chipped around all edges. Overall in very used, playworn condition.
A charming and poignant original WWI First World War hand-made ' Tommy ' rocking horse. The horse of wooden construction with rubber wheels to the base and a curved metal handle. Seated atop the horse is a well made ' Tommy ' or Cavalry soldier, complete with bayonet. By repute made by the father of one J. Stanmore - a WW1 Cavalry Officer. Rare item. Measures approx; 92cm tall.
