A Belgian 6 shot 12mm Pliers single action wedge frame pinfire revolver, c 1865, round barrel with octagonal breech 162mm (6-3/8”), the breech stamped “A.PLIERS BREVETE” and engraved “BIJON S MONTE-VIDEO”, with unusual ejector rod clipped beneath the barrel, which hinges outwards and then slides in the conventional manner, Liege proved, the loading system is also most unusual, consisting of a revolving disc behind the cylinder with a single aperture which when aligned with a chamber allows the cartridge to be inserted, the frame only engraved with scrolls, with plain walnut grips and lanyard ring. GWO & C (although giving the appearance of double action, it appears to have only ever been single action) Plate 35 £350-500.

A Belgian 6 shot 12mm Comblain double action pinfire revolver, c 1865, octagonal barrel 158mm (6¼”), Liege proved, the breech, cylinder frame and trigger guard scroll engraved, the frame stamped “H.COMBLAIN BREVETE”, with chequered walnut grips and lanyard ring. A lever on the right of the frame hinges forward and upward to allow the barrel and cylinder to slide off for loading, the cylinder pin acting as the ejector. GWO & C, the barrel and cylinder with matt grey finish. Plate 35 £350-450.

A Belgian 6 shot 12mm Mariette double action pinfire revolver, c 1866, round barrel with octagonal breech and muzzle, the breech with integral rearsight and marked “MARIETTE BREVETE”, Liege proved, with a most unusual ejector system whereby the ejector rod is fixed and a knurled bolt in the lower frame releases the barrel and cylinder to slide forwards allowing for ejection (a rather clumsy operation), the cylinder, frame and trigger guard deeply engraved with panels of vine leaves and scrolls, with plain ebony grips, and lanyard ring. GWO & C with dark russet patina overall (ejector rod retaining screw missing). Plate 35 £300-400.

Ebbeke, Herzberg, c 1865, octagonal barrel 120mm (4¾”), with simple brass line inlay at the breech, and also on the cylinder, which bears “EB” maker’s stamp, the brass frame and trigger guard engraved with scrolls and vines, and at the top of the grip strap “B. EBBEKE, HERZBERG”, with ejector rod on the right, bag shaped butt, with plain ivory grips, and lanyard ring. GWO & Clean Condition, the engraving sharp. Plate 36 £300-350.
