Fully recommissioned and beautifully presented, this stylish 308 GT4 is on offer directly from Chris Rea's private Collection. Introduced at the 1973 Paris Motor Show, the Dino 308 GT4 was a significant departure for Ferrari in several ways. It was the first production car from Modena to feature a mid-engined V8, a layout that would become common to their core range for decades to come, along with the first production model to feature Bertone styling rather than Pininfarina bodywork. The chassis was based on the Dino 246 but was stretched to make space for a 2+2 configuration and the 3-litre V8 was integrally joined with the gearbox and featured an alloy block and heads with dual overhead camshafts fed through four Weber 40 DCNF carburettors. The styling was controversial at the time, with some journalists comparing it to the Bertone-designed Lancia Stratos and Lamborghini Urraco and the proportions gave traditionalists an attack of the vapours but, as is often the way, Bertone's styling effort probably looks better now than it ever has. For all this, the car was a huge success, being bigger and more usable than any other mid-engine car had managed or would manage for a while. More than 3,600 were sold, dwarfing sales of V12 models and showing Ferrari the way forward. Today, these 1970s Ferraris have come of age with their classic looks and brilliant handling and are as fast as you are ever going to need in the real world, with a top speed of over 150mph and 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds.Chris Rea, the singer, songwriter and musician, has an enduring passion for Ferrari with many finding their way through his hands over the years, however one particular model has been a constant within his stable, that being the Dino GT4 appearing in many guises, from out and out race versions which have been spiritedly campaigned by him over the years through to superb road-going examples such as this particular steed, the latest to have received the 'Rea touch'. Purchased some years ago in need of a little TLC, the decision was taken to entrust Ferrari specialists, QV of London, with whom Chris has a longstanding relationship, to fully recommission his latest acquisition to ensure longevity and reliability wherever possible. As is often the case, the timescale to complete the restoration became elongated as the list of desired works steadily increased, resulting in the bodywork being refinished, the engine being fully rebuilt and enhanced, the interior being completely refreshed and the running gear totally overhauled. Looking deeper into the schedule of recommissioning and the associated invoices, it's noted that the engine now has fully balanced internals including the high-compression pistons and polished crank, the running gear was totally removed and stripped prior to being overhauled, re-bushed and powder coated as required but not before the decision was taken to fit uprated springs and dampers, new brake calipers - front and rear, stainless brake hoses, a new steering rack and much more. The 308 GT4 is one of the few small Ferraris that suit a two-tone colour scheme. Chris' own Ferrari Pirelli Challenge car was red and gold, but in this case he chose to finish it in (we understand) a very stylish Grigio Ferro over Blu Dino Scurro. The Bordeaux Red seating and carpets present beautifully and the refurbished Cromodora alloys are as you would expect from a quality recommission. Unusually, it's one of the very rare cars with 'factory' rear seats delete, which may seem strange as the GT4's raison d'etre was the extra seating, however luggage space in the 308 GT was minimal so as a 'touring' car it made sense. With the recent in-depth recommissioning, Ferrari aficionado ownership, celebrity provenance and magazine-featured, this is one GT4 that will enhance any Prancing Horse collection and is ready to be enjoyed as intended when it rolled off the production line almost 45 years ago. It should also be noted that so fresh is the build that a period of running in is still required. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the opportunity on offer.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 308 GT4 Year: 1980 Chassis Number: 15468 Registration Number: TPO 1F Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 53000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BurgundyClick here for more details and images
Recently completed and fresh to market after a seven year labour of love by its Lancia aficionado owner. The legendary Lancia Stratos HF is the ultimate rally icon of the 'Group 4' era and changed the face of International Rallying as the first purpose-built rally car in an age of modified production cars. Rather than build the 1,000 units needed to qualify for 'Group 3' and only afterwards apply the allowable 'Group 4' modifications, Lancia committed to building the 500 examples required for 'Group 4' homologation as a thinly disguised rally car for the road.Designed by Marcello Gandini, the Stratos HF ('HF' for High Fidelity) was developed as a collaboration between Lancia and Bertone and was introduced in November 1971 at the Turin Motor Show. It was based around a central steel monocoque with steel front frame legs and box-section rear subframe, carrying lightweight glass fibre doors and hinged ‘clamshells’ at the front and rear. The car was powered by a mid-mounted transverse 2.4-litre Ferrari Dino V6 that Enzo Ferrari only reluctantly agreed to supply, fearing the new car would overshadow his own Dino 246.Stratos bodyshells were built by Bertone at its Grugliasco Works, and then shipped to Lancia for final assembly at Via San Paolo. Homologation for 'Group 4' required that 500 examples be built within a 24 month period but, in real terms, this did not require 500 finished cars, but rather enough chassis and components to complete that number. Production began on 1st July 1972 and only 183 examples were completed by the end of 1974, however the FIA determined that enough components and completed body shells existed to confirm 'Group 4' homologation on 1st October 1974. Body production and final assembly would continue through 1975 and although there is some uncertainty, the best estimate is that Lancia eventually completed 492 examples. The Stratos HF made its competition debut in November 1972 on the Tour de Corse running as a prototype and saw its first successes the following year, with wins on the Tour de France and the Firestone Rally, and a second place at the Targa Florio. With its diminutive size, extraordinary agility and powerful V6, the Stratos quickly established itself as a dominant force in rallying, winning the WRC three years in a row (1974–1976) and firmly established itself as a legend by continuing to win in private hands as late as 1981.This 1975 Lancia Stratos, Chassis #AR0001951, built to 'Group 4' specification, is offered fresh to market after a protracted build period with recent completion after what has been a seven year 'labour of love' by the present Lancia aficionado owner. Built around a reconstructed shell, manufactured by Marchesi Modena in 2017/ 2018 utilising genuine and period specific components being of the correct type and age where possible. The standard of finish is exceptional with a level of detail that is rarely achieved. The Marchesi produced shell has also been modified to 'Group 4' specification with an integral T45 roll cage and lowered floors to accommodate the taller pilot, even the front, rear and door clams have been sourced and supplied having being produced using the original Italian tooling. With extensive research being carried out over the years, it is clear to see the lengths to which our vendor went in order to present one of the finest Lancia Stratos to come to market in recent years.Motivation is provided by the fully rebuilt Ferrari 246 V6 power unit constructed around a cast-iron block, with Aluminium 'Group 4' heads sitting atop fully balanced internals and breathing through triple 44 IDF downdraft Weber carburettors. The engine is centrally and transversely mounted, providing drive through the 'Group 4' Lancia 5-speed 'dog box' with a dog-leg first gear through to the Schaublin fully rose-jointed rear end with independent McPherson Struts and 'Group 4' alloy hub carriers, all riding on period correct Magnesium Campagnolo- style wheels shod with the correct Pirelli P7 'Corsa' tyres. Retardation is accomplished through AP vented discs with 4-piston Monoblock aluminium calipers. We appreciate that anyone genuinely interested in this car will have lots of technical questions and we have pages and pages of component specification and build details available upon request. Every part of this build has been considered - the right people asked the right questions and the exact components sourced from wherever they could be found - which is why it took seven years. Our vendor was fastidious, possibly even a little obsessive, when it came to this project and that’s why we are keen that interested parties explore it a bit further to appreciate just how much thought and passion has been invested in this beautiful Stratos.Bringing #AR0001951 back to life has been a metamorphosis and we feel that it would be wonderful to see the car on a European rally stage or on the showground or anywhere really, enjoying the admiration always generated when people get a close look at one of these seldom seen WRC-winning rally cars from 50 years ago.Specification Make: LANCIA Model: STRATOS Year: 1975 Chassis Number: 829AR0001951 Registration Number: PAO 789P Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 0008764 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: LHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Beautiful coachwork finished in Nero Daytona complemented by Crema leather, 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and just 29,353 miles from new. The Ferrari 599 succeeded its predecessor, the 575, in the summer of 2006 and brought the front-engined V12 Grand Tourer into the modern age. Whereas the 550 and 575, even at their introduction, always felt like modern classics, the 599 was every inch a new-age Ferrari. The all-aluminium chassis, F1 SuperFast gearbox, F1-Trac stability and traction control, magnetic semi-active dampers and carbon-ceramic brakes, all wrapped in aggressive, aero-optimised bodywork with minimal overhangs and maximum presence was a mission statement. Top billing, though, went to the engine - a lightly modified version of the Enzo's 6-litre V12 with a mighty 611bhp at 7,600rpm, endowing Ferrari's new series-production flagship with truly sensational performance with 0-62 in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 205mph. Of the 3,500 Ferrari 599 GTB F1 Fioranos produced globally, the United Kingdom’s share, as is the norm with right-hand drive Ferraris, amounted to under 10% of the total production. Online resources confirm that there are currently 301 examples registered in the UK.This delightful 599 GTB Fiorano F1 was supplied new in the UK on 1st December 2006 with few option boxes left unticked. The well chosen combination of Nero Daytona with recessed Scuderia Ferrari shields complements the Crema trimmed carbon fibre bucket seats, black top roll and matching carpets, highlighted by carbon fibre and aluminium inserts. The factory-fitted equipment includes dual-zone climate-control, electrically adjustable seats with driver memory function, electric windows, rear parking sensors, a carbon fibre-trimmed steering wheel with LED shift lights, an electrochromic rear-view mirror, leather headlining, a Giallo tachometer and a premium Bose sound system, enhanced by a more modern Pioneer unit with Bluetooth connectivity.Sitting four-square on 20" ‘Monolithic’ alloy wheels, housing Rosso callipers with carbon-ceramic brake discs and shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres, the 599 is perhaps the most handsome V12 GT Ferrari since the Daytona, designed, as they were, to be both beautiful and monstrously capable. A true GT car should raise the odd eyebrow when first introduced and then age gracefully, they should never be vulgar and we wonder how the aggressive coachwork of the 599’s successors will look in time. This glorious 599 is presented to auction freshly serviced with some 29,353 miles, its dealer handbooks, a well stamped service book and advisory free MOT Certificate valid until May 2025. It's also accompanied by the original toolkit in its tan leather case, a car cover and we are pleased to confirm the Cherished Registration Number V12 FSH is generously included in the sale.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 599 GTB FIORANO Year: 2006 Chassis Number: ZFFFD60C000149552 Registration Number: V12 FSH Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 109009 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Crema LeatherClick here for more details and images
Collector quality with a lovely original patina and just 1,798 miles from new. The RS200 was born in the era of 'Group B' rallying, undeniably the most extreme period in rally history with all competing manufacturers turning every dial up to 11. The power was immense, the courses dangerous and no matter how high the level of a driver's skill, it was always outmatched by the sheer bravery required to pilot these machines at full chat. Whilst Ford’s competitors developed their rally cars from suitable models in their road car range, Lancia with their S4 Integrale, Audi with the S1 Quattro and Peugeot with their T16 205, Ford took a more extreme route, building a competitive rally car and then using it as the basis for a well-engineered, road-legal version, purely to tick the homologation boxes.Produced by Ford Motorsport in Boreham from 1984-1986, the plastic-fiberglass composite body was designed by Filippo Sapino of Ghia Design Studio and enclosed a mid-mounted engine, four-wheel drive and a front-mounted gearbox for ideal 50/50 weight distribution. The chassis was designed by Formula 1 designer, Tony Southgate, in conjunction with Formula 1 engineer, John Wheeler, so the car had real potential for greatness.Motivation was provided by an 1,803cc Ford-Cosworth BDT engine fitted with a Garett T03/04 turbocharger which produced 250bhp in standard road-going trim although, as production progressed, more power became available. At the time, 'Group B' regulations required manufacturers to assemble 200 road-going versions of their race-bred competition cars, however with the passing of time, it's become clear that Ford did not manage to sell 200, with Justin Smith, the Ford RS200 authority, believing as few as 147 were actually sold.Presented here is certainly one of the best examples of the Ford RS200 we have offered for sale and with an exceptionally low mileage of 1,798. It was sold new on 14th April 1989 by Charles King Motors, the Ford Main Dealer in Bedford, and apparently was the 100th car finished, bearing the chassis no. SFACXXBJ2CGL00100. It's supplied with Ford Motorsport decals and a leather interior which makes it a rare specification. There have been four owners prior to our vendor with all the timeline details in the history file and it's evident from the car's overall immaculate condition that they took their ownership seriously. Early in its life, it was returned to Tickford for a service and more recently, in December 2022 but only a few miles ago, it was treated to fresh fluids and new hoses by specialists, Viking Motorsport. It still sports its original Pirelli P6000 tyres and spare and comes complete with its original complete pristine toolkit and its Ford Boreham leather-bound manual. Collector quality with a lovely original patina and exceptionally low mileage, this impressive 'Group B' rally car, from the rallying colossus that was Ford in the 1980s, is almost certainly unrepeatable.Specification Make: FORD Model: RS200 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: SFACXXBJ2CGL00100 Registration Number: F500 BRP Transmission: MANUAL Engine Number: GL00100 Odometer Reading: 1798 Miles Make: Click here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from The Recreation Collection, this very pretty car has many period parts such as Borrani wire wheels and a £4,000 stainless steel exhaust system. The Recreation Collection was assembled by a gentleman, now deceased, who had a passion for cars, owning at one stage some 38 vehicles. A particular enthusiasm of his was for replicas of the rarest and therefore most expensive examples. Judging by the receipts on file and the high prices paid in period, he could’ve bought at least one real example for the price he paid for the others! These are special cars and worthy of serious consideration, offered, tantalisingly as they are, without Reserve. We understand that this fabulous right-hand drive tribute car was the dream of an Italian gentleman, a former Chairman of two Italian sports car clubs. Based on a UK-supplied 1997 BMW Z3 M Sport, itself a highly desirable car and one that is the identical size, wheel-to-wheel to the original, the recreation was a labour of love that offers the attention-gathering beauty and appeal of the original combined with the benefits of modern motoring technology and German engineering.Every item on the car, from the body panels to the seats, has either been bespoke manufactured or purchased from Ferrari or GTO Engineering. Original Ferrari parts include the indicator stalks, installed at a cost of €1,800, grille, window winders, door handles, badging, headlamps and rear view mirror. Even the ashtray is an original Ferrari item, bought from GTO Engineering for £400. To acquire one correct Nardi steering wheel as sported by the orignal, the owner actually had to buy four of them. The car runs on the original size Pirelli tyres, wrapped around an €8,000 set of Borrani wheels. The £4,000 stainless steel exhaust features a resonator box and sounds not dissimilar to a V12 on carburettors. To create the bumpers, the previous owner had a mould made and the bumpers were then cast in stainless steel, at a cost of £3,000. The engine is a 325bhp BMW M3 E36 unit. Beneath the period radio sits a speaker with a difference. Entirely in keeping with the original styling, this was made specially in Germany by Becker. It pulls down to reveal the air conditioning controls hidden behind. The original BMW Z3M sustained repairable damage on the 25th May 2000 and was subject to an insurance Category D marker. Given the car’s new lease of life in 2017, it was subsequently registered at the time as a Black California Spyder, we welcome close inspection of this special vehicle.Presented to auction with its V5C, historic bills, brochure and previous MOT Certificates, the most recent of which is valid until 24th September 2025.Specification Make: BMW Model: Z3 ROADSTER Year: 1997 Chassis Number: WBSCK91050LD20287 Registration Number: BPR 726A Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 1462 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Add to the roughly 150 pre-production Coupes mentioned above, another 250 or so Coupes were produced, some sold in Canada as 1979 models but most ended up being held back and then finally sold in the US as 1980 models. In 1979, a long-anticipated Michelotti-refreshed TR7 Drophead (convertible) was introduced, and almost all subsequent production TR8s were convertibles. Worldwide production, as best as can be determined, throughout all the labour turmoil at the time, is only around 2750, give or take "a handful". (Enthusiast Richard Connew went through the records at British Motor Heritage Industry Trust and counted 2746.). The TR8 was due to be launched in the UK and a pilot production run was made consisting of four prototypes and 18 pre-production cars. At this point, British Leyland unexpectedly cancelled the project. The pre-production cars were subsequently sold via the dealer network to the public and are highly collectable. Both the TR7 and TR8 were built until October 1981 when production ceased. Very few genuine TR8s exist outside the United States and Canada. One of just 400 TR8 Coupes built by Triumph on 3rd April 1979 to North American specification (left-hand drive). Never shipped to the USA, it was registered as a test vehicle on 23rd April 1980 (the registration containing ‘VC’ synonymous with other BL factory development cars). Subsequently sold to Pirelli on 28th April 1980, it was used for tyre testing in Italy. Following its working life, the TR8 was sent to Paul Haywood Motors for a right-hand drive conversion with ‘LVC’ being sold on 20th October 1983 to a Mr S J Lloyd of Baldock, Hertfordshire, before being sold to a David Smallridge of Milton Keynes, on 12th June 1988.Mr Smallbridge organised a full body restoration, with the colour change from Blue to Red. ‘LVC’ was also fitted with a 3.9 litre engine, big valve heads, Piper cam, lifters and Holley carburetor, LSD plus brake and suspension parts etc. With work carried out by S & S Preparations in Lancashire (receipts on file), the intention was to use ‘LVC’ in club race meetings. Purchased by the present owner on 25th August 1995, it has since been garaged and used for attending car events, but not used in motorsport competition. Supplied with a BMIHT Certificate, workshop manual, collection of invoices plus a receipt for £8587.35 by S+S Preparations and a current V5C. Registration - P873 STMChassis No. - WF0BXXBAJBVM01420M.O.T. - TBCOdometer - 9,838With just under 10,000 miles on the clock – a figure which appears to be supported by service and MOT records - it’s no surprise that the vendor states that the car ‘really belongs in a Ford collection’ and that it remains in ‘as-new’ condition. Supplied new by Hancock Ford, Hertfordshire, this ‘timewarp’ machine still sports the original Pirelli P 2000 tyres and dealer stickers it wore when it rolled out of the Hancock showroom and is offered complete with the original book pack and service book displaying 16 stamps, plus spare key with original red master key, key number tags and radio code. ‘P873 STM’ has had just two previous keepers, its first owner acting as guardian for almost 21 years. The three-door hatchback is smartly presented in white paintwork with blue-grey cloth trim, both of which the current owner describes as being in ‘excellent’ condition; they also rate the bodywork, electrics, five-speed manual transmission and 1.3-litre engine as being similarly impressive. These charismatic little modern classics are becoming increasingly collectable, and one in such untouched condition, with such low mileage - it has covered just some 300 miles in the past decade - and offered at No Reserve is a rarity indeed. Now in its seventh generation, Ford’s incredibly successful Fiesta was discontinued last year, much to the disappointment of its generations of fans. No less than 22 million have been sold during the model’s astonishing 47-year reign, 4.8 million of which found homes in the UK, where it was the top selling model for 12 consecutive years (2009-2020) and the country’s best-selling car of all time. From frugal family car to winner of international rallies, Ford’s famous baby has ticked countless boxes in its reign and left a very large automotive hole when it went.In summary:A totally original, unmolested three-owner exampleLess than 10,000 miles from newBeing sold at No Reserve – a dream opportunity for a Ford collector
Registration - CU06 JVXChassis No. - SCBCE63W06C038839M.O.T. - NoOdometer - 75,000 2006 Bentley Continental GT ‘CU06 JVX’ is being offered for sale after being in the care of its late owner since 2018. Presented in white wrap with beige leather interior, it has been rated by the vendor’s estate’s representative as ‘good’ with regards to 6-litre twelve-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, interior and electrics, and ‘average’ for bodywork and paintwork. An HPI check reveals that this car was original painted green, though does not confirm a date of colour change. MOT records appear to support the indicated 75,000 mileage. Launched at the 2003 Geneva Salon, the Continental GT differed from the previous Continental R and T models in being mass produced rather coach-built, which allowed far greater numbers to be manufactured at a more attractive price – the cost at launch was literally less than half that of Continental R, thereby dramatically widening the potential customer base. The four-wheel drive coupe in optimal Speed form was powered by a twin-turbocharged W12 engine of 6.0-litres, the output of which was a mighty 600bhp – sufficient for a 0-60mph acceleration time of some 4.3 seconds and top speed in excess of 200mph! Other elements that differentiated the Speed model from its standard siblings included lower suspension and wider-rimmed alloy wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
