A MID 18TH CENTURY MUSICAL LONGCASE CLOCK the oak and mahogany case having a swan neck pediment with carved floral patrea and turned half reeded columns, the trunk with carved blind fretted quarter columns and inlaid door on a matching canted base raised on bracket feet. The 13" arched brass dial with gilt masked spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted engraved centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, the arch with signed silvered plaque above a rotating moon dial, tune selection lever for Psalm 95, Britons Strike Home, and Charles Dragoons fronting a substantial three train eight-day weight driven movement chiming on six bells and twelve hammers every three hours and striking the hours on a bell. - Provenance details are on the back of the door, an image has been attached.212.5cm highThe clock is in good unrestored condition, the case has a small piece of moulding missing above the hood door on the right side, and there is a shrinkage joint to the base. The movement is original to the case and is complete with the original seatboard. The movement is very dirty but is working and sounds nice when chiming. It will need cleaning and servicing. Comes with weights and pendulum. A very nice honest clock.

A MID 18TH CENTURY MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY FUSEE BRACKET CLOCK the 7" arched brass dial with mask head cast brass handles and silvered chapter ring, having Roman numerals and outer minute markers, enclosing a matted centre with signed cartouche and date aperture, below a strike / silent dial to the arch. Fronting an eight-day double fusee movement with suigned backplate, anchor escapement and striking the hours on a bell. The arched case with hinged doors and carrying handle to the top.38cm high handle down.The Georgian mahogany case has a small patch to the bottom of the front door and a small piece of moulding missing from the arch of the back of the case. The movement is original to the dial but associated with the case. It is in working condition ticking and striking correctly, it has an unusual striking mechanism where it strikes the hours on a large bell and also strikes the hours at half past on a smaller bell.

The bottom section has a loose mould tot the left corner and a small piece which is missing, the handles are 19th century replacements. The bracket feet are original, There are no splits to the sides. The polish is sun bleached on the lower section. See images uploaded. There are a few old worm holes to the front of the left door .

Nice colour and patina to the case, there's a small piece of moulding missing from the top right side, the right side of the case has losses to the polish, the back door is original but has been re-veered, the dial is in good order having original paint with crazing to the ground but very stable, the movement is original to case and is ticking and striking/chiming the quarters and hours correctly but is dry and will need a service.

The silvering on the dial is worn in places, hands are original. the movement is dirty and will require a service but is in working condition.

Losses to the moulding along the bottom of the cupboard doors on the left-hand side. Damage to the beading around the drawers and evidence of patches in the veneer along the bottom.

Doppelt konischer Knauf mit sechsfacher Kehlung und feinem Kerbdekor. Länge 180 cm. Wolfgang Stantler, Klingenschmied in München. Old leather-covered ricasso with two robust side lugs. Slender quillons with scrolled details and coiled terminals bent towards the blade. Large side-rings filled with fleur-de-lys ornaments on both sides. Finely punched décor all over. Leather-covered grip with central moulding and cord wrap, replaced tassel. A Regency rosewood, inlaid and brass mounted Bonheur du Jour in the manner of John McLean, bordered with boxwood lines, the shelved superstructure with brass ogee pointed three quarter gallery, urn finials and octagonal trellis panel back, on turned supports fitted with two small drawers at base, with applied lions mask and ring handles and egg and dart mouldings, the frieze below with a guilloche beaded band and single long fitted drawer with egg and dart moulding and lions mask handles and with a divided claret leather panel and adjustable ratchetted writing surface, on ring turned tapered legs, headed with anthemions united by a concave fronted galleried undertier, terminating in brass cappings and castors, 113cm high, 81cm wide, 47.5cm deep.
