Some general surface wear throughout, in keeping with age and use. Residue to top of case. Drawers and door move easily. A few nibbles to the corners of tiles throughout. Some surface wear and marks to tiles throughout, to front and reverse. Additional images available.

A Chinese mahjong set in lacquered chinoiserie case, early 20th century, surmounted by twin brass handles above a lift up front opening to reveal five drawers, with four of the drawers each containing thirty-six bone and bamboo tiles, the bottom drawer with four sections containing sticks, dice and holders and seven blank tiles, size of case; height 17cm, width 24cm, depth 16.5cm. Condition report: the case has chips, cracks and wear. Metal handle missing off bottom drawer.
An early 20th century Mahjong set - bone-faced tiles and scoring chips within an Oriental three-drawer lacquered box with top carrying-handle. One scoring chip missing. (20cm wide)Condition Report: One swan neck handle is missing and the lacquered is in good general condition overall but the lacquer has dulled down significantly, there are some marks commensurate with age. It is noted that going through the tiles one scoring tile is missing but all the other pieces are present. The game has been clearly used and played with and as such the some of the bone surfaces exhibit darkening and grime. The set also includes instructions.
