PROVENANCE Bought by Kenneth Rowntree direct from the studio in the early 1950's. Sold by direction of Kenneth Rowntree's family. A rare Hans Coper trial vase of cylindrical form with trailed white glaze to the exterior, scratched mark "R9" to base, height 11cm. Provenance: this is one made as a study for the altar vase at Coventry Cathedral, the vase has come from the family of John W. Mills, sculptor, who obtained it whilst working with Hans Coper.

A small Dame Lucie Rie shallow circular dish of convex form with dark oxide glaze detailed with scored lines, the underside in a plain oatmeal, bears tablet mark, width 11.5cm, together with a small footed bowl with ochre glazed body and incised line decoration to the foot (A/F) and a small Dame Lucie Rie and Hans Coper handled cream jug of ovoid form with a manganese oxide rim over oatmeal ground (A/F), all with impressed tablet marks.
