An early 20th century Drew & Sons 'En Route' picnic hamper for 4, circa 1910. With leather straps and handle. Named to basket interior lid and most of the pieces. Pull down front tray with metal lined work station. Hamper includes: Pot stand with decorative pierced panel; burner with adjustable wick; fuel canister, saucepan & lid with fold out handles; kettle with screw lid & spout and wicker handle; 4 ceramic saucers; 4 teacups (only 1 original); rectangular steel canister with ceramic liner; 3 ceramic picnic trays (1 missing); thermos flask, glass bottle with screw lid and 2 small steel lidded canisters.

Hamper includes: Pot stand with decorative pierced panel; burner with adjustable wick; saucepan & lid with fold out handles; kettle with screw lid & spout; 2 ceramic cups & saucers (not original - should have been enamel); 3 steel canisters, largest with enamel liner; 2 enamel picnic-for-one trays; white enamel square shaped container with steel slide over lid and matchbox with striking panel to underside. Small area of repair to one hinge area of basket.
W. Avery & Sons - A 19th century Victorian circa. 1870's gilt metal Avery needle case in the form of a picnic basket hamper. The needle case having pressed wicker pattern all over with double hinged opening. Stamped W. Avery & Sons, Redditch with registration mark. Patented to Buncher & Haseler in 1875. Measures 50mm tall.
