In-8° (mm 200x135). Pagine [8], CXCVI. Fregio silografico al frontespizio, iniziale ornata incisa su legno alla carta A1r. Legatura coeva in cartonato, al dorso titolo vergato longitudinalmente, in inchiostro bruno. Buon esemplare, in barbe; fioriture, qualche alone e traccia d'uso. Ampia gora agli ultimi fascicoli. Al contropiatto anteriore ex libris 'Ex Bibliotheca Gastronomica Claudio Benporat'. Alla carta dell'occhietto una antica mano ha vergato 'Opera Del P. Daniel Concina'. Prima edizione, apparsa in forma anonima e poi riproposta l'anno successivo (vedi lotto 117). Concina, teologo domenicano incline al rigorismo, aveva dedicato molte opere al tema del digiuno, interesse evidente anche in questa operetta, in cui affronta la dibattuta questione se il bere il cioccolato possa essere considerato un'interruzione di tale pratica, concludendo che nessun buon cristiano vorrà rischiare la "eterna salute peggio che Esau, per una chicchera di cioccolato" (p. Gora all'angolo superiore interno delle ultime carte, altrimenti bellissimo esemplare ad ampi margini. Legatura settecentesca in pelle su cartone, cornici in oro ai piatti, lievi abrasioni. Nota bibliografica di difficile lettura al frontespizio, numerose glosse coeve in inchiostro bruno e rosso lungo tutto il volume. Prima edizione illustrata (la terza assoluta) di questa importante opera sulla topografia storica di Roma. La pianta a doppia pagina è considerata la prima mappa di Roma disegnata in maniera scientifica cercando di riprodurre fedelmente l'orografia della Città eterna (cfr. Frutaz, XII).
