A trio of bayonets, to included a Swedish M1896 bayonet with scabbard, an Indian made No.1 MKII* sword bayonet dated November 1944, and a reproduction pre-1937 Japanese Arisaka Type 30 bayonet with scabbard. Notes: the Swedish bayonet has the usual all steel construction, with the scabbard retaining its frog stud. The No.1 MKII bayonet carries the GRI mark, and the Indian RFI mark at the ricasso (scabbard absent). This late war example is of crude construction, with the slab grips being flat and rectangular, and the pommel being of squared off form. The cross guard is stamped ‘DP’ for Drill Purpose. The blade lack a fuller, and is simply painted black, instead of being blued. The Japanese Type 30 lacks any kind of marks, and looks almost mint condition. Condition: generally good. Normal age and service wear to the Swedish example, with darkening to the steel, along with some minor dents, and a small corrosion patch on the chape. Clean blade, with just a few dark spots. The Indian bayonet retains much of its black painted finish, with wooden grips having a dark patination and the remains of a white or light coloured stripe (perhaps for drill purposes) around the circumference of the grips. The reproduction Japanese bayonet is in very good condition, with just some minor surface spotting to the pommel area.
