Registration No: C18 SCB Chassis No: SCC085912LHD13657 MOT: March 2026Just 54,682 recorded miles1 of just 1,562 Lotus Esprit (X180) cars understood to have been made from 1987-1991Extensive maintenance work carried out at 53,780 milesOwned by a discerning collector and always garagedDesirable and collectable modern Lotus PLEASE NOTE: the odometer on this lot has recently stopped working, the vendor has documented the exact mileage covered and is also supplying a digital speedometer with the car and he informs us its an inexpensive repair.Revamped for 1987, the Esprit was restyled by Peter Stevens (later of McLaren F1 fame) who gave the model a more rounded, softer look, coincident with which Lotus introduced a new, more automated body manufacture process called VARI (Vacuum Assisted Resin Injection). Complete with Kevlar reinforcement to the roof and sides, this made the new model (codenamed X180) twenty-two percent stiffer than its predecessor. Underneath little had changed, the two-seater being based on a galvanised steel backbone chassis powered by the company's four-cylinder 2174cc engine that offered 172bhp in normally aspirated form. The unit was mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Suspension was fully independent by wishbones and coil springs at the front and unequal length transverse links, radius arms and coil springs at the rear. Braking was by discs all round and steering by rack and pinion. The normally aspirated cars could be readily distinguished from the Turbo examples by the lack of a glass shield between the flying buttresses. The manufacturer's quoted performance figures were in line with expectations, 0-60mph coming up in 6.5 seconds and 138mph being achievable flat out. First registered to White Dove Garages of Cardiff as ‘WDG 75’ on 28th June 1990, this rare, normally aspirated X180 Esprit was part of a private collection belonging to a dear friend of the vendor for many years. Accompanying paperwork includes a stamped service book and numerous invoices which attest to prior maintenance by Lotus dealers and marque specialists. As well as servicing, the two-seater has had past attention paid to its engine belts, gearbox, brakes and coolant system. Inside, the Esprit has previously benefitted from the smartening of its seats, dash pod, steering wheel, carpets and door cards. The headliner was retrimmed and the window channel rubbers, door seals, and sunroof seal renewed. A new gearstick decal and new Lotus Esprit badges to the original spec were fitted too. Said to have 'been garaged and never taken out in the rain', a lack of use has prompted the vendor's wish for someone else to enjoy driving the Lotus. Showing less than 55,000 miles to its odometer, ‘C18 SCB’ is offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, MOT certificate valid until March 2026 and the aforementioned history. Registration No: APL114H Chassis No: 4E66C297094Peter Knight Racing V8 engineHTP FIA Appendix K papers until 2026All metalwork was subject of a "bare metal" restorationFIA-approved fuel storage and a plumbed-in FIA-approved fire extinguisherFIA-legal ventilated front disc brakes with 4-pot callipersAmong the most dramatic race cars to ever take the chequered flag, Ford Galaxies have been thrilling drivers and spectators alike since the 1960s when Holman & Moody prepared examples ruled NASCAR. More recently the full-sized Ford has been a consistent crowd pleaser and winner at the Goodwood Revival.Granted a FIA Historic Technical Passport in 2016 which remains valid until next year, ‘APL 114H’ boasts an impressive (and expensive) specification. The steel bodywork was treated to a ‘bare metal’ restoration and is augmented with GRP boot, bonnet, doors, front wings and bumpers. Designed, fabricated and installed by Harry Hockley using T45 to FIA requirements, the roll cage dominates a ‘bare bones’ interior which also features race seats, associated harnesses and Stack digital instruments. Built by Peter Knight Racing, the 427ci (7-litre) V8 engine sports ‘Police Interceptor’ heads with big valves and breathes via a Tony Law manifold. Developing an estimated c.517bhp, it is allied to a ‘Super T10’ gearbox. The rear axle was (a) fitted with a new 3.5:1 ‘locker’ differential and racing half shafts and (b) altered to permit speedier tyre changes. The propshaft was renewed and the suspension uprated with stiffer springs, nylon bushes and adjustable dampers. A FIA-compliant fuel cell and plumbed-in fire extinguisher were added. The upgraded braking system comprises ventilated discs gripped by 4-pot callipers at the front and drums with ventilated backplates and competition linings to the rear. The front windscreen is laminated glass with all other windows utilising 4mm polycarbonate. This very exciting lightweight proposition has been in storage of late. As such, the vendor is unsure whether the fire extinguisher, seats and belts are still in date. Offered for sale at a fraction of its build cost, moulds for the Ford’s lightweight panels plus a set of spare wheels will be made available for collection. Lot 64

Registration No: 614 JGT Chassis No: 140SK MOT: Exempt1 of just 1,402 Phantom IIs understood to have been producedPresented in well preserved barn-find condition after some fourty years of lay-upOriginally coached by H.J. Mulliner in four-light sports saloon guise and then later rebodied by Dottridge BrosOffered without reserveIntroduced at the October 1929 Olympia Motor Show, the Phantom II was the last of the truly grand six-cylinder Rolls-Royces and the final one to be overseen throughout by F. Henry Royce himself. The chassis was completely new and, rather than the cantilever rear springs of its predecessors, it employed underslung semi-elliptic ones which, along with improvements to the drivetrain, allowed the frame to ride closer to the ground, improving handling. The power came from an updated version of the Phantom I engine, topped by a new aluminium alloy crossflow cylinder head, it was matched to a four-speed manual gearbox, bolted directly to the chassis rails. The four-wheel servo-assisted brake system of the Phantom I was continued, and all Phantom II chassis received lubrication set-up. The radiator was positioned aft of a reworked beam front axle, further adding to the model's fresh, low-slung appearance. The resulting elongated bonnet line together with short overhangs created an enticing platform for the coachbuilder's art, and proved conducive to elegant designs courtesy of the major carrozzerias of the day - e.g. James Young, Park Ward, Mulliner, Thrupp & Maberly etc. Capable of over 90mph, the Phantom II remained in production for six years, during which time some 1,402 are understood to have been made, plus 278 with yet sportier Continental specification. All but 125 of the total were equipped with right-hand drive.According to “The Rolls-Royce Phantom II and III” by Nick Whitaker and Steve Stuckey, chassis 140SK was originally bodied in four-light saloon coachwork by H.J. Mulliner and delivered to a Mrs H. Martineau. The V5C states that it was first registered in London as ‘614 JGT’ on the 13th February 1935 but the records show that it was “off-test” on the 1st October 1934. Thankfully, a side-profile photograph survives of the car in H.J. Mulliner form when new. Little is known of the history following its delivery, however some years later, post-World War II, the car was acquired by Harold White Funeral Directors of Chingford, Essex and was masterfully re-worked to Limousine specification by the esteemed Islington based coachbuilders, Dottridge Brothers post-war. Much of the original H.J. Mulliner line was kept intact including much of the front wings and waistline, however the door bottoms were extended downwards for ease of access and the roofline was raised to accommodate a glass partition. The car is said to have been used quite extensively during the 1950’s and 60’s for funeral work by Harold White before being put into dry storage once it had become redundant due to the business’ acquisition of a more modern Rolls-Royce limousine in the late 1960’s / 1970’s. 140SK was to become somewhat forgotten about during the following years until the proprietor passed away and it was bequeathed to the current generation of the family who still run the business today.Upon inspection, it was noted that the large proportion of the Phantom II has been preserved very well indeed thanks to the dry storage conditions that it has been pulled from and is largely complete. The paintwork is evidently period and could be a clean-up and preservation job, but the bodywork also appears to be solid. 140SK also retains its original engine numbered DK55 which appears to be seized from years of standing, but the car was pulled from its resting place with relative ease due to unseized brakes allowing it to roll freely. The interior is in largely intact condition, and it is thought that it could be preserved in this form with some TLC should a prospective buyer be so inclined. It should be noted that the history file could not be found by the vendor and a new V5C will need to be applied for although a digital record exists with the DVLA.So, the question for a prospective buyer that remains is what to do with the car? It could be enjoyed as a very fine and rare oily-rag machine in its current form or put back to work in the funeral trade after a restoration. Perhaps for the more eccentric it could be returned back to its original H.J. Mulliner styling? For more information, please contact: Lucas Gomersall lucas.gomersall@handh.co.uk 07484 082430

Lot 128

Registration No: BTG 741T Chassis No: GCATWE00031 MOT: February 2026Exhaustively restored to a ‘Group 4’ specification to a cost of an estimated £85,000Impressive specification with Ike Engineering 2.4 Pinto engine, floating Atlas back axle with LSD built, Type 9 five-speed gearbox, AP racing brakes and much much more!Full bodywork restoration with Gartrac arches and front spoilerTruly exceptional build with less than 5 miles since completion!Worthy of close inspectionDeveloped in conjunction with Ford of Cologne and launched during January 1976, the Escort MK2 RS2000 was based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell equipped with MacPherson strut front suspension, a leaf-sprung ‘live’ rear axle, rack-and-pinion steering and disc/drum brakes. Powered by a longitudinally-mounted 2-litre four-cylinder engine allied to four-speed manual transmission, the RS2000 was credited with 110bhp and a 110mph plus top speed. Many were visually distinguished from other Escorts by a fibreglass snout housing quad headlamps, however, the model could be had in ‘Custom’ for with a non-coned front. Weighing in at just over 900 kg, the Mk. II RS2000 benefitted from a lightweight construction, paired with a sport-tuned suspension that enhanced its cornering ability. The car enjoyed considerable success in motorsport, contributing to Ford's dominance in rallying during the late '70s!Chassis number ‘GCATWE00031’ was manufactured in 1979, being registered new in the United Kingdom on the 1st of June that year. A genuine Escort RS2000, in its recent years, it has been lavished with an exhaustive restoration to a ‘Group 4’ specification, to a very high standard and with an estimated expenditure of approximately £85,000 in total. Work included providing a full bodywork restoration including new floor pans, door skins, wings, rear quarters, and front panel, as well as Gartrac arches and front spoiler fitted by Gartrac. The Escort was then given a full respray by Classic Dreamworks with the paint finish excellent. The build then began using all the best components, with the RS Escort featuring an Ike Engineering 2.4 litre all steel Pinto engine allied to a Type-9 five-speed helical gearbox built by 2-Spec Transmissions.Utilising a fully floating Atlas back axle with limited slip differential built by 2Spec Transmissions, with stopping power supplied by AP Racing brakes all round. Other mechanical features are electronic power steering, a 2.5-inch stainless steel Simpson exhaust, and Ralloy petrol tank. In the interior, the Escort benefits from OMP seats and OMP harnesses all in date, as well as an OMP steering wheel and high-end digital dash. Finished to a very high standard with the door gaps excellent and the underside presents with a fantastic finish too. Starting readily and running very well during the recent photography session, the RS has covered under 5 miles since the completion of the restoration, making this surely as close to a ‘box fresh’ RS2000 ‘Group 4’ specification car as possible! With companies now building 2025 ‘copy’ Escort Group 4’s, this is an opportunity to purchase a genuine 1979 RS2000 restored exhaustively, for a fraction of the restoration costs. A striking mixed-media artwork on canvas, titled etude No. 1 - Reves, signed by the artist on reverse FL. This contemporary piece presents an ethereal interpretation of Gothic architecture, capturing the grandeur of vaulted arches and intricate stonework with a surreal, dreamlike quality. The composition features a layered effect, with blurred vertical elements suggesting a fusion of photography and digital manipulation. The juxtaposition of sepia-toned structures against a spectral column of iridescent hues creates a dynamic interplay between history and modernity. The title, translating to Study No. 1 - Dreams, aligns with the atmospheric and meditative nature of the work, evoking a sense of movement and altered perception. Presented in a sleek black frame, this piece exemplifies a contemporary approach to architectural abstraction with a strong conceptual underpinning.Issued: c. 2000Dimensions: 21.25"L x 17.25"HCondition: Age related wear. The electric windows can be slow or don't work. When cold, the autochoke needs help with a bit of throttle to keep the revs up until warm. The pop-up headlamps operate as they should.
