Formerly the property of Mrs Alice Keppel (1868 - 1947), the British society hostess, beauty and mistress to HM King Edward VII - a fine Regency Apsley Pellatt & Co. gold mounted cut glass scent flask in the form of a crown - the stopper in the form of a cross, the gold mounted collar decorated with rose, thistles and shamrocks, the crown profusely and finely diamond cut with hobnail cut base, circa 1825 - 1830 - most probably made for The Royal Household and given to Mrs Keppel as a gift by King Edward VII, 9cm high x 9cm wide, the base 6cm diameter. A similar crown flask was commissioned for Queen Adelaide from Apsley Pellatt & Co. when her husband King William IV ascended the throne in 1830 (on loan from Melissa John at the Bentley Priory Museum Collection).Provenance: Mrs Alice Keppel by descent to her daughter, Violet Trefusis and thence to John Phillips CONDITION REPORT Good original condition. Fine quality George IV silver egg cup stand of rectangular form, with stylised shell and leaf decoration, four classical-style legs on decorative feet and central leaf-mounted carrying handle, containing six matching silver egg cups with gadrooned borders, together with a set of six Kings pattern with diamond heel egg spoons (frame and egg cups London 1823), John Bridge of Rundell, Bridge & Rundell (spoons same date), William Eley & William Fearn. All at approximately 39ozs, frame 21cm across CONDITION REPORT General overall condition quite good. Frame has several repairs to edges of cup holders and central bar. There is a split between one corner egg cup holder and the one adjacent to it. One holder is distorted and egg cup does not fit properly. Spoon frames are slightly distorted. Hall marks slightly rubbed but legible, makers mark rubbed.Egg cups in quite good condition, some surface scratching, rims very slightly distorted, also some bases.Spoons slightly worn with some surface scratching, probably not original to the frame and egg cups. Each cup is 64g, 6.5cm high, each spoon is 27g, 12cm long

The cabochons measure approximately 14.5-15mm x 10-11mm. Two are cracked. Surface scratches/scuffs. The back of the pendant has a small glazed locked compartment which has a cracked glass and the pendant fitting has been added/ replaced. Gross weight 9.3 grams The brooch is in very good condition. The garnet has natural inclusions and a fissure which touches the surface. Diamonds measure approximately 2mm diameter.nThe cluster was possibly designed to be detachable as it has a screw-in fitting which is no longer detachable.
