(18)Provenance: From the deceased Estate of Peter Boizot MBE (1929-2018), the founder of Pizza Express and previous owner of Peterborough Football Club, The Great Northern Hotel and The Broadway Theatre, who was born and died in Peterborough. He was well known as an engaging and cordial host, a great philanthropist and as a lover of jazz, hockey and of course pizza.

JAMES EDWIN DEAN FOR MINTON; a well painted circular porcelain plaque depicting blacksmith fitting a horseshoe to a thoroughbred in stable with a dog and donkey present, signed lower right, approx 36.5 x 36.5cm, framed and glazed.Additional InformationThe back of the frame is nailed on so we cannot see the reverse of the plaque, appears in good condition with only some minor visible surface dirt and marks, some visible small losses to paintwork including to horse's front left hoof, some seemingly small flecks of paint or other material, ideally frame would be replaced and item would benefit from a clean and new framing as it is visibly dirty, possible surface pitting although this may or may not just be dirt.
Ticket to the funeral of Lord Nelson at St. Paul's Cathedral, 9 January 1806. 'Admit the bearer, at the south door, to the galleries in the great nave'. Signed by George Pretyman Tomline, Bishop of Lincoln (Dean of St. Paul's), 'G Lincoln', and bearing the wax seal of the Bishop of London. The ticket is mounted on purple silk with later frame. The ticket measures 7.5cm by 10.5cm. 'After Nelson's body had lain in state at the Royal Naval hospital, it was carried in procession down the River Thames to St. Paul's Cathedral for the funeral ceremony. The service lasted some four hours and at the end the coffin was lowered into the crypt, draped with the ensign of HMS 'Victory'.' [Royal Museums Greenwich]
