Takuro Shibata (21st century contemporary) a studio pottery vessel with Japanese character inscription together with two tall charans by the same artist, together with a Briglin jug decorated with flowers, tallest 11cm high (4) Takuro Shibata runs a Japanese wood-fired kiln in North Carolina, USA and was a student of the Shigaraki potter, Hajimu Kato. Originally trained as a chemist, Takuro has always had an interest in seeking out and using natural raw materials.
