Steve Ferguson (American, B. 1946) "1941 Junkers Ju 88" Signed lower left. Original Watercolor painting on Cold Press Illustration Board. Provenance: Collection of James A. Helzer (1946-2008), Founder of Unicover Corporation. This painting was published on the Fleetwood First Day Cover of the Junkers Ju 88 from the 100 Year of Powered Flight Collection. The Junkers Ju 88 was probably the most versatile bomber of World War II; it was certainly the most highly modified and widely used German bomber. Oddly enough, the Ju 88 was designed by an American, Alfred Gassner, and a German colleague of his, W. H. Evers. The twin-engine aircraft first flew on December 21, 1936, and entered regular service in September 1939. Powered by either Junker Jumo or BMW engines, this highly maneuverable, well-built aircraft filled many roles, including night-fighter, close air support, reconnaissance, tank-killer, torpedo bomber, trainer and unguided missile. Serving on every front in World War II, the Ju 88 was still being produced when German factories were overrun in 1945. Image Size: 16.25 x 14 in. Overall Size: 20 x 15 in. Unframed. (B17156)

Lot 149

1998 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph Transmission: automaticMileage:25143The Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph was first unveiled on 3rd March, 1998 at the Geneva Motor Show. It replaced the Silver Spur which ended production in 1997. All Seraphs were hand-built at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe, England, which stopped making Rolls-Royce models in 2002 but continued with Bentley. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK and was powered by a 5.4 litre aluminium alloy BMW V12 engine, making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom III. Standard electronics included digital engine management, adaptive ride control and anti-lock brakes. Aside from the radiator grille, badges and wheels, the Rolls-Royce was externally identical to the contemporary Bentley Arnage, sharing both its platform and bodyshell. Inside, the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage were similar but quite distinct from one another. In the Seraph, the gear selector was column-mounted and the gauges followed a traditional Rolls-Royce layout (for example, there was no tachometer). In both cars, the seats and dashboard were upholstered in Connolly leather, with dashboard trim and folding picnic trays for rear passengers and glossy burr walnut veneer. This lovely Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph was supplied by H. R. Owen on 1st August 1998 and since then has only covered a mere 25,000 miles. Fully maintained and regularly serviced, this car is supplied with a full-service history with the last 10,000-mile service carried in June of this year by marque specialists, Michael Hibberd Motor Engineers. The current owner has maintained the car with a no expense spared philosophy and kept it in superb condition keeping it in a heated garage while in his ownership. He has also had fitted a new audio and Sat Nav system with Apple car play. Finished with Amethyst paintwork and unmarked magnolia leather interior with heated leather seats, lambswool rugs and picnic tables to the rear, it is exquisite in its appearance and comfort. This excellent Silver Seraph is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in September 2022, the original handbooks and a collection of invoices confirming the low mileage. A Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph is a rare car and to find one in such a delightful colour combination and superb condition is becoming increasingly difficult.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 191

1975 BMW 2002 Cabriolet Transmission: manualMileage:6312The BMW 2002 series is important in the history of BMW for several reasons; not the least of which being that it brought the company out of near bankruptcy in the 1960’s and put BMW on the map in the United States. It was the ancestral grandfather to the BMW 3 Series and was produced from 1968 to 1976. German BMW importer Max Hoffman is credited with the car's creation. He had suggested to BMW's engineering director that a 2.0 litre engine should be installed into the small two-door 1602 to improve performance and emissions. The resulting 2002 (named after the new motor's displacement) was popular in its first year on sale. This BMW 2002 is one of only 354 examples manufactured in right hand drive format and one of only 24 manufactured in 1974. Conversions on these outstanding vehicles were carried out by coachbuilder Karosserie Baur in Stuttgart. Baur retained a ‘T’ bar in the roof design helping dramatically to reduce any scuttle shake. This 2002 cabriolet was purchased by the vendor in 2018 after the car had benefitted from a full bare metal restoration in Poland the year before, with receipts in the file for over €4,500 in parts alone. Finished in yellow with a black interior, the car was then subject to a full mechanical restoration back in the UK. Almost £5,000 was spent between renowned historic motorsport teams Macchina Motorsport and TTP Performance to get the car mechanically sorted, with TTP Performance carrying out a full engine rebuild. The car is now reported by the vendor to be ‘on the button’ and to run and drive extremely well. Supplied with a UK V5C registration document, almost all of its early MoT test certificates, invoices running back to 1980 and original sales brochures, this wonderful, fully restored BMW classic is now ready to enjoy.Interested parties should note that the estimate for this car is now £12,000 to £16,000.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 245

1989 BMW 635CSi Highline Transmission: automaticMileage:35422Karmann manufactured the early 6-Series BMWs from launch in 1976 before BMW took production in-house. The most significant technological upgrade on the E24 range took place in 1982 after which all models were constructed upon the more advanced E28 chassis through until production ceased in 1989. Despite offering high horse-power and a top speed of 134mph, demand for the 628CSi remained low by comparison to the 635CSi variant which by far and away formed the vast majority of sales for the E24 family. This superb example is presented in black with light tan leather interior. It comes with an electric sunroof, electric windows, electric seats, air conditioning and its original stereo system we believe. The present owner has stored the car in a temperature-controlled storage unit forming part of his private collection and whilst in his ownership, he replaced the rubber seals around the windscreen and the doors. The history file contains various invoices and old MoT test certificates. This is one of best examples of this iconic model we have had the pleasure to sell and with such low mileage, surely this is the one to have.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 271

2002 Rover 75 Connoisseur SE Transmission: manualMileage:89600The Rover 75 was manufactured by Rover Group and later by MG Rover. The Rover 75 was available with front wheel drive in either a saloon or estate body style and latterly, in long wheelbase form and a rear wheel drive, V8 engined specification. Rover 75’s were built at Cowley, Oxfordshire, for just a year when the owners at the time, BMW, divested its interests in Rover and the 75 was built by the new MG Rover Group at their Longbridge site in Birmingham. Production of the Rover and later MG badged models ceased on 8th April 2005 when manufacturer MG Rover Group entered administration. This 2.5 litre V6 Rover 75 Connoisseur SE is presented in gleaming red coachwork with contrasting black trim and is described by our vendor as being in fabulous condition inside and out and an absolute joy to own. The car has had just three former keepers and has been with the current owner since 2006. It boasts a full service history, the last in September 2020, and having only covered circa 4,500 miles a year has been very well maintained and used regularly. A very well specified top of the range Connoisseur SE example supplied with the original handbooks together with a UK V5C registration document and a tow bar, this is a car that can be great fun to use or to keep as a potential future classic.Guide Price £4,000 - £6,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction.
