WW1 German Prussian Infantry Regiment 176 M.15 Variation Field Grey Bluse (Tunic), this field grey bluse differs slightly in construction from the standard configuration, it is without turned back cuffs and only has a small vent at the rear instead of the standard M.15 rear skirt, lower pockets are straight, fly front identical to the M.15 construction. It is depot issued and marked in a rectangle to the interior ‘B.A.XII (Army corp 17) dated ‘1915’. We can only assume that the army corp clothing manufacturing depot constructed the tunic in this style maybe on individual request, Beautiful condition, one moth hole to the lower righthand sleeve otherwise all nap to cloth excellent, complete with Prussian NCO’s lace to the collar and fitted with chain stitch ‘176’ M-15 pattern white piped shoulder straps. Fully lined in issue grey cotton lining material to the interior. High stand collar, six button fly front. This tunic was once part of the late Michael Baldwin collection and was sold by C&T Auctioneers in the second part of his collection in May 2018, lot 184. Throughout the series of Feldzug books the number of Regiment 176 constantly appears, Michael Baldwin obtained a huge group of uniforms and lightweight equipment of one owner from Infantry Regiment 176.

As commanding officer of the relief column at the Battle of Lexington and Concord Percy saved the retreating British forces from total defeat. In 1775, as a Divisional Commander, he was engaged in the Battle of Long Island and led the storming of Fort Washington. In 1786 Hugh Percy succeeded his father as 2nd Duke of Northumberland and continued the program of agricultural improvements at Alnwick. He held twice-weekly meetings at Alnwick Castle with tenants and tradespeople, these occasions are believed to have been organised and attended by WoodLittle is known of John Murdoch, however a note in the Statistical Account of Scotland, Vol. XX, 1798, p.86 suggests that he was apprenticed to one of the Cadells and goes on to note 'The trade is now carried on by John Murdoch, also famous for his ingenuity in the craft and who has likewise furnished pistols to the first nobility of Europe. A 2743Chassis no. 023Engine no. 4749VCC Dating Certificate  1217Louis Renault built his first car in 1898 utilising a primitive tubular chassis and a propriety De Dion engine. Having secured substantial financial backing production soon started at Billancourt with the 1 3/4 and 3 hp cars. To publicise the cars Louis and his brother Marcel saw the benefits from active participation in early motor races. The Renault voiturettes were highly thought of, with Louis Renault leading a team of four cars in the 1901 Paris-Bordeaux Race. Louis won the voiturette class completing the epic race in a time of 9 hours and 31 minutes with Marcel second and the other two Renaults third and fourth.This early London to Brighton eligible car is unusual in that its complete history is known. It was supplied new by the sole agents for Renault Freres and Mors cars Roadway Autocar Co Ltd in London to Captain Basil Emery of Bulford Wilts and Hunstanton Norfolk. Captain Emery was a decorated career Army Officer and there is a photo on file taken c.1907 of him and his fiancé taken outside Ely Cathedral. The car was acquired in 1920 by a Mr Barnes, a chimney sweep from Reading who used it in his business. It was then acquired in 1927 by the well-known coachbuilders and motor dealers Vincents of Reading, and was in their custody until 1975. There then followed five owners until the current vendors late father acquired the car in 2006.This 1901 example is powered by a 4.5 single cylinder water cooled De Dion engine with automatic inlet and mechanical exhaust valves and features the traditional side radiators characteristic of Renault at that time. The car is running on the correct trembler ignition system and under the bonnet is fitted the De Dion type coil. The gearbox has three forward and a reverse gear. Now fitted with a four, as opposed to the original two, seat bodywork the front carries two plates cast with E Vicart et Fils of Levallois (Seine). The coachwork is presented in green with coach lining and red button upholstery and is fitted with brass sidelamps, an oil rear lamp and a brass horn.As well as being a proven early starter for the London to Brighton Run this historic veteran is also eligible for all VVC rallies including a number of popular single and twin events as well as Renault Frères events in France and is easily transportable. The car is offered with a current V5, an old style buff logbook, a VCC dating certificate and an extensive history file. Usefully there are also notes on the starting procedure as well as suggested driving technique both backwards and forwards.

British Army 1847 Infantry Pattern Victorian Officer’s sword.A good example retailed through Landon & Morland of London. Single edged 32 inch fullered, slightly curved blade decorated with a VR entwined cypher surmounted by crown and with initials “RNC”. Gilt metal hilt with crowned VR cypher, shagreen grip and copper twist wire binding. Housed in restored leather and gilt metal scabbard fitted with two loose rings and frog button. Blade clean, etching remains clear. Gilt worn to base metal. GC.

An original WWII Second World War medal group to a Corporal John James Mott 263947 of the USMC ( United States Marine Corps ). The medal group comprising his:1) Purple Heart medal - named (Cpl John J Mott USMC)2) Prisoner Of War medal - named3) American Defense Service medal with Fleet clasp4) Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal with Bronze Star5) WWII Victory Medal6) Philippine Defense medal with Bronze Star7) Bronze Star8) US Gold Star Mother Pin ( Act Of Congress )9) Army Distinguished Unit Badge with oak clusterOn 7th January 1938 Mott enlisted in the US Marine Corps at the Recruiting Station in Washington DC aged 19. After completion of training he was assigned for two years service aboard USS Honolulu where he was promoted to Private First Class on 1st June 1939. Mott extended his listing for a further two years and boarded USS Chaumont for China in April 1940. By December the same year he was promoted to Corporal and in November 1941 he embarked on USS President Madison bound Olongapo Naval Station in the Philippines. Here his regiment was ordered to Corregidor Island which by April 1942 became under constant fire from Bataan. The Fourth Marines inflicted many casualties and fearing a massacre, General Wainwright decided to surrender his troops. All forces were rounded up and marched ( ' The Baatan Death March ' ) until they were loaded onto trains to board ships across Manila Bay where they are sent to one of the POW camps. Mott was moved to Philippine Islands Port Area Camp 11 and put to work in the dockyards under appalling conditions where he spent the next two years. In August 1944 Mott arrives at Osaka No 7 Branch Camp, Kamioka POW Camp. On the 25th January 1945 archive material shows Corporal John Motts death was recorded in the Osaka POW camp as a result of Acute Bronchitis. Between 1946 and 1948 Motts mother Gertrude received Motts American Defense Service medal, WWII Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal. By 1949 She applies for and receives a Gold Star Lapel button and his Father received the same. By 1950 Gertrude is sent a letter informing her that the remains Corporal John James Mott have been permanently interred in Grave 105 in Manila U.A Military Cemetery, Philippines. Some years later Congress authorised posthumous entitlement to the following additional awards: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal and POW Medal. A printable memorial certificate for Mott was was printed from the American Battle Monuments Commission website for this collection.   Accompanying the collection is a folder containing considerable research and documentation including his recruitment and enlistment forms ,emotional copies of letters from his Mother to the Adjutant General pleading for information about her sons wellbeing. "Everyday i've looked for a letter from him. I did not want to bother you, with times like they are, but if it is possible please give me what information you can. Have not seen him now in over three years". Paperwork also includes a detailed timeline of his movements right up to his death being recorded in the Osaka POW camp. A thoroughly detailed and interesting piece of history.

WW2 German Army M-43 Field Cap, good combat worn example of the standard issue field cap worn by the German army during WW2. The cap is complete with its one piece bevo woven insignia. Two plastic button front and single side grommet. Cloth lining to the interior which shows service wear. Overall a good example.

WW2 German Army Mountain Troops (Gebirgsjäger) M-43 Combat Tunic, superb untouched example produced in the dark slate grey / green heavy wool material. The tunic is four non-pleated pockets with green / grey painted pebbled buttons. Fine matching piped other ranks combat pattern shoulder boards. To the arm is rank chevron and original Kuban campaign shield. Machine stitched bevo breast eagle and mountain troops sleeve insignia. Collar has the original litzen (collar patches) and War Service Cross 2nd class medal ribbon to button hole. Lined interior with ink issue stamps remaining clear. Medal loops to the breast pocket. The tunic remains in fabulous overall condition.

A Third Reich era German collection relating to one officer, Hauptmann Karl Kohler (Captain). The lot consists of Waffenrock military coat with eight-button front, fine feldgrau wool, Swedish cuffs and Waffenfarbe piping to collar, cuffs, front closure and rear vent, aguillette. M37 officer's tunic, silver braided belt with clasp, visor cap with badge, enlisted army dress bayonet with hangers. An associated copy of Mein Kampf. Not much is known about the officer as he was fairly secretive. He was believed to have been born in Leipzig, an Infantryman in WWI and injured in the Champagne area of France. He was partially disabled and later had an involvement with the Nazi Party. Worked in Berlin and trained the Infantry to ski in the mountains as part of the Alpine Corps training. The vendor received the collection from the elderly serviceman as a gift.

LEMANIA; a WWII period 'Dirty Dozen' military issued stainless steel mechanical wristwatch, the circular dial set with Arabic numerals and two subsidiary seconds dials bearing broad arrow mark, diameter excluding winding crown 3.8cm, the case reverse bearing broad arrow mark, no.0552/924-3305, this above further crossed out inscription, broad arrow and mark 9 above 4562, on stainless steel bracelet.Provenance: purchased from the Army & Navy store in Manchester, circa 1974.Additional InformationThe glass is very scratched which is obscuring viewing the dial properly although the dial itself does appear to be free from major damage. The hands adjust and it does wind, however, this is not sold as being in working order. The push button action is not working correctly, the hand stops by itself although does relocate when pushing the button for a second time. Scratches as expected to the case and a few small knocks. Both the case lug scratch pins are fixed bar. Postage would be a small box.
