A third quarter 19th century French gilt bronze and porcelain mounted mantel clock In the Troubadour style, the movement signed Silvany, a Paris and with Pons pastille, numbered 105, The unusual oval stepped case with Gothic arched panelled stylised cast decoration and pierced 'winged'side panels, the top with hinged lid enclosing a plush lined jewellery compartment, the lid with twin recumbent female finial, raised on dragon and pierced foliate feet, the whole inset with decorative large and smaller oval figural porcelain panels depicting courtly figures, the lid similarly with oval panels depicting military trophies, the 3 1/4 inch porcelain dial with Roman numerals and central military trophy, and pierced gilt metal hands, the brass twin train movement with Brocot type suspension and outside count-wheel striking on a bell, with pendulum and winder, one small oval panel cracked but present, 33cm high, 32cm wide, 12cm deep For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
