Small spot to half-title and title, mild darkening to gutters, light shelfwear to head and tail of spine, lacking glassine jacket. FIRST EDITION, LIMITED EDITION, SIGNED by Faulkner on the colophon, this copy number 56 of 300. The Book Club of Texas produced this small limitation of Faulkner's story after the Southwest Review decided the piece was too long to publish in their magazine. It was not regularly published until it appeared in Uncollected Stories in 1979.
