First edition: 411 pages, numerous black and white photographs, tan leather with a gilt vignette of a buck's head on the upper cover titled gilt on the spine, housed in a matching slip case, a very good copy.


Presentation inscription reads: To dear Peter, With best wishes and greetings from my beloved East Africa. Ada Wincza


Limitations page reads: One thousand copies have been published by the Amwell Press for the national Sporting Fraternity Limited as the eleventh book in its African Hunting Heritage Collection. This is copy no.819 signed by the authors and the president of NSFL


Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 – 1999, page 306: The Winczas recount their efforts as Polish freedom fighters during WW11, their migration to Africa, and finally as big game hunters in Tanganyika and Kenya, with episodes of hunting elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, kudu and other game.
