Punch Magazine Cartoons from Punch 4 vol set of political cartoons from Punch magazine from 1845-
4 vol set of political cartoons from Punch magazine from 1845-1901. All volumes have a large folding frontispiece and b/w illustrations throughout. This appears to be a specially bound edition for 'The Time Book Club' Small label on the back marbled endpaper indicate so.
All volumes have been recovered in red boards with red leather spine and corners, and marbled endpapers. Each cover is marked and/or discoloured in different ways. Some damage to the edges, and to the the top and bottom of spines. Titles in gold on spine, and each volume is marked with a small emblem at the bottom of each spine: one emblem for volume one, two emblems for volume 2 etc. The text block is edged in gold.
The inside of all volumes is clean with some browning, but very little foxing at beginning and end. The cartoon pages are clean.
Photos show condition of the covers of individual volumes, but text block in all volumes is clean and tight.
