Heading into our third century of auctioneering, 1818 Auctioneers is a friendly auction house based at Junction 36 of the M6, which is easy to access from Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Our purpose-built offices and salerooms are part of the J36 Rural Auction Centre and they house a team of experts and support staff who thrive on the buzz of auctioneering. We all work hard to make your experience of buying and selling at auction easy and enjoyable.
We hold online, timed auctions every week. Our auctions include vintage, antiques and collectables, furniture and furnishings, and prints and pictures. We also run regular specialist auctions such as music, jewellery, silver, military, coins, textiles. Every auction is available for online bidding and runs for 17 days, so buyers have plenty of time to choose and secure their favourite lots.
In-person viewing takes place in the salerooms as follows:
Wednesdays, 10 am to 2 pm
Thursdays, 10 am to 2 pm
Fridays, 10 am to 2 pm
These are open viewing sessions, no appointments are needed.

There’s a large car park, which is free for our customers to use, so loading and unloading are easy. We also have secure storage on-site to keep your items safe before they’re sold.
