Founded in 1842, the Glasgow based company has welcomed a host of high profile names over the years with legendary Scottish philanthropist William Burrell a frequent visitor to the auction house in earlier days.

In more recent times McTear’s has extended its reach, building an impressive database of buyers and sellers in over a hundred countries across the globe. Under the guidance of an experienced team of specialists, McTear’s departments have grown significantly over the years. McTear's Head Office & Auction Galleries are situated just south of the Clyde Tunnel adjacent to the M8 motorway. The Galleries are open Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5pm, Friday 8.30am-3pm and Saturday 9.30am-12pm. Please check opening times ahead of travelling in case of variations. The facilities at McTear’s Galleries boast a private car park and café.
