A jade boulder Carving, second half of the 19th century, the irregular white-flecked, pale grey-green stone carved with a horse beneath a willow, the reverse with lingzhi, small chip at the base, 10.5cm, wood stand (2) CONDITION REPORT: A 1cm long chip to rear left of base. Small knock to far left pinnacle.
A jade Figure of a Boy, a bat and peach at his back, 5cm, a jadeite miniature Incense Burner and Cover, with mask and loose ring handles, 6cm, and a brooch Plaque, with flowers, 4cm, all with some damage, first with box (3) CONDITION REPORT: KARAKO FIGURE - tiny chip to branch tip on right. INCENSE BURNER - one handle repaired. BROOCH PLAQUE - broken and glued. Censor base - one ring restored.
A jade Libation Cup, 20th century, the deep vessel well carved as a mallow flower supported on interlocked stems and with leaves and buds, the stone of pale green, 9cm, fitted wood stand and box (3) CONDITION REPORT: A small chip to left hand side exterior rim. Small section missing from stand.
A large agate and jade Desk Ornament, 20th century, in the form of a peach water-pot amongst gnarled prunus, supporting a milk-white jade vase and cover, Shoulao at the rear, contemporary wood stand well carved with pine and rocks, several pieces chipped 19.5cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: Lid to vase with numerous chips and knop missing. Vase showing fractures. Further fractures throughout. Sections of prunus missing to the rear and to the left-hand side of vase. The base with 3cm section of rim to the right-hand side glued.
A rare small Vase and Cover, Kangxi, c.1700, painted in 'Master of the Rocks' style, with a pavilion on the waterside, pine trees and a rider on mule back, a boy behind, all beneath towering rocks, wreathed in clouds delineated in fine lines, domed cover matching, jade mark, cracks and restoration, 15cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: Cover with restoration to the rim. Fine hairline egg-shaped crack. A further fine hairline crack.
VARIOUS MATERIALS A good jade uncut Seal, 18th/19th century, in the form of a walking turtle, its carapace engraved and almost simulating the Eight Changes, the stone attractively multi-coloured, pierced for suspension, 3cm, and a soapstone Seal, c.1900, as a turtle, its dragon head turned back, the stone of mottled black and brown, 3.1cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: One chip to foot of base, some small nicks to side of base on looking back turtle. The other turtle with no obvious faults. Provenance: as per catalogue.
Three Seals, two jade and possibly 18th century, the other soapstone, each in the form of a turtle pierced for suspension, 2.1 to 3cm (3) The middle seal reads: zisun bao zhi (for the inheritance of Sons and Grandsons). CONDITION REPORT: Small fish with small nicks to side. Turtle, some small nicks to side and edges of base. Jade stone with no obvious faults. Provenance: as per catalogue.
A powerfully-carved ivory Seal, possibly mid-Ming Dynasty, as two archaic chimera, their bodies twisted and biting each other's hind quarters, 4.1 x 3.6cm The seal engraved: Kon gang (a ridge in the Konlun Mountains). The Konlun Mountains are between Tibet and Sinkiang and extend to Central China. They are the source of good nephrite jade. CONDITION REPORT: Fine crack lines throughout, otherwise no obvious faults. A Jade Dragon Pendant, 20th century, the stylised beast in a pale grey-green stone, carved with 'S' scrolls and with pierced mouth, 8.5cm These dragon pendants were first carved and worn during Neolithic times and unearthed at various periods such as the Song and Qing, when they were admired, copied and altered. This lot, and the following, differ from antiquity as they lack drilled suspension holes. CONDITION REPORT: No obvious faults. Provenance: as per catalogue.

An unusual Jade Pendant, 20th century, the pale-green stone with a thin, brown encrustation on one side of the curled dragon, its body and tail forming a complete circle, the details well-engraved and the whole based on an original from the Neolithic Hongshan culture, 7.1cm CONDITION REPORT: No obvious faults. An unusual jade Pendant, of indeterminate date, in the form of a qin wrapped in cloth and tied by a ribbon, the exposed end with key-fret, the stone of mottled pink and purple and curiously phallic in evocation, 9cm The qin is a seven-stringed musical instrument most nearly related to the zither or lute and very difficult to play. Managing it was one of the Four Scholarly Pursuits to be attained by the literati. CONDITION REPORT: Centre left there is a small rough mark on the band. Provenance: as per catalogue.
A jade Plaque, 19th century, carved in shadow relief with a basket of finger citron, 11cm, a smoky quartz Snuff Bottle, c.1900, carved with a prunus root and blossom, foot chip, 5.5cm, and a Cicada, brown-mottled on a pale-green ground, 5.8cm (3) CONDITION REPORT: PLAQUE - small surface scratches and grazes. SNUFF BOTTLE - inclusion to the neck and light surface marks. CICADA - small chip to rear of right wing tip.
A pair of Chinese white jade Belt Ornaments, Qianlong (1736-1795), each in the form of a two-handled vase on an openwork stand, the centre of each vase carved with a flowering prunus branch within a recessed panel beneath a band of leaves on the neck, the stone of even white colour, 6.5cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: One with fine hairline to top. Some inclusions/fracture marks.
An unusual Chinese jade Da Ji Pendant, 18th/19th century, in the form of a gourd with openwork handles, the centre of the gourd with a moveable jade flower, carved in relief on both sides with the two characters da ji (great happiness), 7cm long CONDITION REPORT: Small chips to front and rear rim of moveable jade flower aperture, the jade flower itself missing three outer segments.
