The silver mount with the early maker`s mark of William Maurice Carmichael of Victoria, British Columbia who began trading in 1920. Recently mounted on a piece of engraved jade. A 1920s Stevens & Williams Royal Brierley vase designed by William Northwood of cylindrical form with flared rim cased in an iridescent orange over jade green and decorated in the Oriental taste with a Chinese dragon between scrolling clouds, picked out in relief gilding, acid signature, height 22cm. N.B - Recorded as pattern 51994 for 30 June 1922 in Description book 56. Gilding cost 12/- and sold for 32/6d.
