Jade, 20th century, an incense burner and cover, carved with masks and loose rings and on three mask and paw feet, 12.8cm high, stand, a pair of jade recumbent horses and two pendants (7), incense burner - 2 of the 3 loop handles to the lid are cracked, one with some losses/ chips. The lid also has a small chip/ rough area to the underside of the rim. The main body of the incense burner has cracks to both of the loop handles. chips and repairs to the rim. Base good. horses - one has a small crack to the leg. otherwise no obvious faults. jade pendants - both good with no obvious faults.
Jade, 20th century, a boulder carving of two figures under a pine, a pendant with two dragons in clouds, another of five bats and a pierced shou, another with a dragon and another, rectangular, with an official and boy in a garden, the reverse with an inscription, 5.5cm to 15.5cm (5), oval pendant has a tiny chip to the rim of underside, otherwise no obvious faults
An eating set, shagreen case, 30cm, a knife with jade handle and diapered wood sheath, an embroidered glasses case including an unusual pair of glasses, a lacquered case and a boxed dotchin, all 19th/20th century (5), Eating set - rusty blade, sheath ferrule missing. Knife - Sheath terminal missing, sheath split at the top, rust spots to the blade. Spectacles case - material slightly stained, small chips to spectacles tortoiseshell frame. Lacquered case with chips to the edges. Dotchin - one third of case edge with splice, scuffed to the edges.
A jade Belt Hook, 18th century, of typical form, one end with a dragon`s head, the other with a chilong climbing up the body, the stone a pale green with russet flecks, 14.8cm, wood stand (2) ????? ?????????, No obvious faults to the jade, no losses or chips. The colour is fairly even as are the spread of inclusions to the jade. Stand has no obvious faults either.
A Chinese ornamental jade Group, late Qing dynasty, carved in 18th century style with a vessel amongst leafy branches of Buddha`s finger citron with large and small fruits, and with a feng perched on a lingzhi, the head turned back and biting on a branch of peach, the stone of green-grey tone with russet speckling, one chip, 16.5cm, silver wire-inlaid hardwood stand (2) This scholar`s desk object may have originally had a cover on the vase - or it may have been intended as a brush pot. ?? ????????, Chip to one frond of a fruit tendril, a hairline inclusion running laterally through the base of the carving. Vessel probably lacking a cover. Brown discolouration. Some slight abrasions and some sharp edges. Stand has missing end section and large deposits of soft composition (possibly to stick jade to stand). Possibly some old repairs, but hard to tell.
A pair of autumnal hardstone Trees, c.1900, each with gnarled trunk and with branches hung with agate, soapstone, amethyst and jade leaves and flowers, the cloisonn‚ jardiniŠres with lotus and key-fret on a terracotta ground, few losses, 41cm (2) ??1900? ??????????? , two leaves and one blosson need re-attaching. Some losses to a small number of leave/ blossoms. One of the cloisonne jardineres hs chipped enamel to the corner of the rim.
A hardstone Vase and Cover, early 20th century, the spade body enclosed by high relief peony above a pheasant on a rock, all in a jade-like green stone, the waisted neck with elephant head handles and loose rings, the domed cover also with peony, some minor chipping, 26.3cm overall, fixed wood stand (3) ????? ??????????????, Cover - stem and leaves broken and glued or missing, Handles - only one tusk intact, one trunk resin? restored. Main body - some tiny chips to peony leaves, resin? restorations to two stems.
A jade Carving, 20th century, of a kylin, the beast crouching with paws and a bifid horn, the stone clear and flocculated, 5cm, and a rock crystal recumbent Carnivore, 20th century, 4.4cm (2) ???? ??????? ??????, Jade - small white blemish on rear left leg. Otherwise no obvious faults. Bear - no obvious faults.
A small jade carving of an Immortal, 20th century, crouched and grasping his knees, a bat on his shoulder, the stone white with translucency, 3.7cm, and a bird-headed ribbed Belt Hook, repaired, 9cm (2) ???? ??????? ???????? ???? , Figure - a very tiny chip to left ear of bat, otherwise no obvious faults. Belt hook - broken below head and glued.
A jade Cap Finial, 20th century, in Ming style, carved with birds and deer amongst lotus and leaves, forming a cagework, the base drilled for attachment, 4.7cm ???? ??????????, There are some discoloured areas around the base, one deer and a tree trunk where the stone is softer than the main body, whether this is a natural occurence or repair is difficult to determine.
