PRIMITIVE OAK, ASH AND ELM COMB BACKED STICK BACKED ELBOW CHAIR having solid seat on three legs. 87cm wide approx. (B.P. 21% + VAT) Structurally sound, appears to have additions and replacements. Seat appears old. Comb back may be a replacement as the legs probably are. It has been re-finished/waxed so difficult to judge - no real patina or wear.Height of seat from ground - 43cm approx.

He is remembered as one of the first American heroes of the war after ordering his crew to bail out while he remained at the bomber’s controls trying to keep the plane in the air before it exploded, killing him. His was the first American B-17 to be shot down in combat. Good condition, large tear on bottom middle, backed on paper. AN AUSTRIAN ENAMEL VESSEL WITH CLOCK, LATE 19TH CENTURY the body formed as a nautilus atop a spreading petal foot, enamelled overall with allegorical scenes, the hinged cover as an antennaed and feathered creature, the body featuring a goddess atop a whale, with three male figures, the verso a leisure scene with a female, two males and a satyr, the base with three female and one male figures, the base centered with a clock with white enamel face, Roman and subsidiary Arabic numerals; overall height: 26 cm (10 1/4 in.) CONDITIONThe vessel is in overall good condition. The hinge has a tendency to stick. Tarnish is visible to the naked eye, and could benefit from a polish. N.B.
