A Victorian silver gilt inkstand, Robert Hennell, London 1857, modelled as an apple, pear and pomegranate on a vine leaf, with central crabstock taper stick with quill rest and snuffer, approximately 809gm/Note: A similar example in plain silver is in the Victoria and Albert Museum CONDITION REPORT: There is an ink bottle in the pomegranate,we are not sure if this is original, it fits well into the aperture both for width and height. Every element carries hallmarks, either full or partial, even the 'wing nuts' beneath have the lion passant. There may be minor bends to leaves but this may be intentional. We can see no sign of damage or repair. The length from stalk to tip of leaf is 21.5cm. The gilding is a very rich yellow gold colour, we am unsure whether this has been refreshed or not but it certainly has not been touched by the current vendor whose family have owned it for a long time. This is is a good quality piece in good condition.
