A gold scarab brooch, the scarab claw set to the centre of the knife edge bar brooch, with a seed pearl cup set at one end, and the bar engraved 'Thebes the secret of the soul', with pin and 'C' catch, tested as approximately 9ct gold, 52mm long, 3.85g, together with a gold scarab swivel ring, tested as approximately 9ct gold, 4.45g, and a carved cornelian, possibly a seal, the domed cornelian with a drilled swivel fixing hole, and matrix intaglio engraved with a bust, approximately 30 x 21mm (3)Finger size K-L approximatelyCondition report: Brooch:Pin is bent/out of shape, but still functional.Surface marks/scratches to gold.Ring:Surface marks/scratches to gold.Sizing join visible at base of shank.Repair visible to one shoulder, possibly soft solder repair.Shank is not round, and underside of scarab is flat. Therefore it is not possible to measure the ring on a ring stick, and the finger size is an approximation only.

A quantity of Victorian and later jewellery, to include a rolled gold memorial brooch, with vacant collet to centre, a gold ruby and split pearl stick pin, tested as approximately 9ct gold, a Vulcanite locket, an Edwardian 9ct gold double sided photo locket with chased frame, Birmingham 1904, a gold memorial pendant with a curl of hair to a glazed panel, and with engine turned decoration verso, tested as approximately 9ct gold, a gold three stone paste ring, tested as approximately 9ct gold, and a gold single stone aquamarine bar brooch, tested as approximately 9ct gold with metal pin (7)9ct gold - 15.44g total (including metal pins and glazed panels)Condition report: Memorial brooch: collet to centre vacant, some dents verso, wear to rolled gold.Vulcanite locket: discolouration to front, does not close flush, slight crack near hinge, surface wear.Stick pin: pin slightly discoloured, file mark to back of finial.Photo locket: glazed panels slightly loose, and a chip to the edge of one of the glazed panels.Memorial pendant: one area of wear to the decoration verso, a couple of dents to the sides, jump ring very worn, a chip to the edge of the glazed panel, and some abrasions/scratches to panel.Ring: abrasions to paste, surface marks/scratches to mount.Aquamarine brooch: a chip to the aquamarine, gold frame bent/out of shape in places.
