A charming and imposing Mantle Clock having a two train brass movement, the fine silvered face having Roman numerals with a Bullrush wreath surround and surmounted by a grassy islet with an Oak tree stump and a shaggy coated dog rescuing a girl with a hoop from raging water with a clog having a stick mast and sail with a message inscribed. The brass plinth stands on leaf scroll feet with a flower garland apron and a scene in relief of a dog amidst the waters beneath wooded banks and Bullrushes. The winding key is present with a label which has written 'Key for Newfoundland Dog Clock by Dupont A Paris Silk Suspension, 14 5/16'' wide x 18'' high x 5 1/2'' deep.
