AN UNUSUAL CHINESE YUAN/MING DYNASTY LONGQUAN CELADON STONEWARE BOWL, possibly from the Shouzhou kiln in Anhwei Province, the bowl with a thick everted lip, the interior unusually moulded beneath the glaze with a variety of auspicious characters in barbed quatrefoil cartouches translating as 'May your hall be filled with gold and jade, may you enjoy long life, riches and rank', the base mainly unglazed, 6.3in(16cm) diameter & 3.4in(8.8cm) high. Bought from Norton, Museum Street, London 1931.
A PAIR OF GOOD QUALITY 19TH/20TH CENTURY CHINESE JADE MODELS OF PHOENIX, together with fixed wood stands supported in turn on good quality fixed European gilt bronze stands, each bird bearing a lotus frond in its beak, each base 4.8in(12.4cm) wide at widest point, each 6.3in(16cm) high overall.
A NEAR PAIR OF GOOD QUALITY 19TH/20TH CENTURY CHINESE JADE BOWLS, with fitted carved hardwood stands, the sides of each bowl similarly carved with bands of formal lotus, one bowl also carved with a variety of animals, each base carved with a lotus flower, the stone of olive-green tone, the bowls themselves 5.3in(13.5cm) diameter & 2in(5cm) high.
A 17TH CENTURY CHINESE LATE MING DYNASTY JADE MODEL OF A BUDDHISTIC LION, together with a good quality fitted carved hardwood stand, the creature seated on its haunches with its head turned backwards, the details incised and carved, the stone of predominantly brown hue with amber coloured inclusions, 8in(20.3cm) high overall, the jade itself 5.1in(12.9cm) long & 6.4in(16.4cm) high. Bought in London 1931.
A Chinese blue and white miniature bottle vase Kangxi (1662-1722) with raised lotus petal panels and decorated alternately with archaic bronzes and auspicious Daoist symbols and neck and shoulders with borders of clouds, scrolls and dots, foot with Yu (jade) character mark, 12cm, another of double gourd form with similar decoration, foot with six-character Jiajing mark, Kangxi, 10cm high and a Yen Yen style blue and white vase, Kangxi, decorated two ladies in a terraced garden amidst rocks, trees and various plants and flowers, neck and foot with linear pattern banding, 8.5cm (3)
