TWO CHINESE CELADON JADE ANIMAL CARVINGS AND TWO JADE PENDANTS 18TH AND 19TH CENTURY One a recumbent water buffalo together with an openwork wood stand, another formed as a reclining dog with its head resting upon its paws, one pendant of a pale celadon colour and carved as pierced fruits with the underside in the shape of a leaf, the other a green speckled jadeite pendant carved in openwork with a pheasant amongst leaves, 5.8cm. A FINE CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE PIERCED OPENWORK PLAQUE MING DYNASTY Of rectangular form, carved with a confronting dragon surrounded by a flaming pearl, a canopy, lingzhi, and precious objects, all contained within a stylised concave pearl border, 7.7cm. Cf. J Rawson, Chinese Jade From the Neolithic to the Qing, p.342, no.25:23 for a similar jade plaque from the 16th century.

A CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE EWER AND COVER QING DYNASTY OR LATER Carved in shallow relief with Immortals amongst rocks under pine and peach trees, the handle formed as a phoenix with a loose ring hanging from one of its tail feathers, the cover surmounted by a knop formed as Shoulao riding a deer with a sprig of lingzhi in its mouth, the stone with some russet inclusions, 15.5cm. A CHINESE WHITE JADE PENDANT QING DYNASTY OR LATER Carved in shallow relief to one side with a boy holding the branch of a fruiting peach tree over his shoulder, clutching a lingzhi in his other hand, the reverse with a four character mark reading wan shou wu jiang, all beneath stylised swirls of clouds, 5.6cm.
A CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE BOULDER QING DYNASTY OR LATER Carved in high relief with two Immortals standing by a cliff face, overlooking a river and surrounded by pagodas, pine trees and rockwork, the reverse with a sage seated on an outcrop fanning the smoke of his hearth, an attendant climbs up some steps towards him, raised on a reticulated wood stand, 16cm. (2) Provenance: from a Hong Kong private collection, sold in these rooms on 21st May 2008, lot 287.
TWO CHINESE JADE TWO-HANDLED BOWLS MING AND QING DYNASTY Each carved with a band of raised studs, the larger cup a translucent pale celadon colour, the handles decorated with archaistic swirls, the smaller cup's handles formed as dragons, the stone celadon with white mottling and black and russet inclusions, together with wood stands, 12.7cm. (4)
A CHINESE CHICKEN-BONE JADE TWO-HANDLED BOWL QING DYNASTY Carved in relief with a band of studs to the body, the two handles formed as stylised mythical beasts, all raised on a short circular foot, together with a wood stand, 10.8cm. (2) Provenance: from an Australian private collection, formed in the 1980s and 1990s.
