A CHINESE SPINACH-GREEN JADE BOWL AND A PALE CELADON JADE 'BITTER MELON' CARVING 18TH CENTURY The bowl rising from a short flared foot to an everted rim, the stone with dark speckles and inclusions, with a paper label reading '155', the pale celadon carving formed as two fruits, the stone with minor russet markings, with a label reading '178', each together with a numbered wood stand, 16.8cm and 5.8cm. (4) Provenance: from the Fryers Collection of Chinese Art, collection nos.155 and 178. The bowl purchased from Renι Kitchen Ltd, London, on 15th August 1969. A copy of the invoice is available.
TWO CHINESE CELADON JADE ANIMAL CARVINGS QING DYNASTY One formed as two chilong curled upon a large leaf, with a bat and lingzhi around them, the stone with russet markings, the other formed as a seated goose with its head turned back and its wings tucked by its side, the stone with dark markings, with impressed seal wax to the underside, 6.8cm and 6.5cm. A CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE 'DRAGON' BELT PLAQUE LATE MING DYNASTY The oblong body carved in relief to one side with a dragon winding its body through swirling clouds and flowering lotus, its bulging eyes gazing intently at the sacred pearl it pursues, the reverse concave and with eight small holes for attachment, the stone of an even tone with some minor inclusions, 10.4cm. Cf. Christie's New York, 14th September 2017, lot 725 for a related Ming plaque carved in openwork with a confronting dragon.
A CHINESE WHITE JADE OPENWORK 'DRAGON' PENDANT MOUNTED AS A NECKLACE 20TH CENTURY The circular pendant carved as a fierce dragon twisting its body amidst swirling clouds, the plaque mounted in enamelled silver decorated with flowers and a butterfly, all suspended from a necklace comprising of forty-nine pale celadon jade beads, the pendant 5.5cm, 38cm overall.

A MINIATURE CHINESE WHITE JADE CARVING OF A FOREIGNER SONG/YUAN DYNASTY The northern nomad (huren) depicted seated with his left leg raised, he is dressed in thick robes and wears a conical hat, the pale stone of an even tone, 3cm. A CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE CARVING OF A DEER QIANLONG 1736-95 The stag depicted in a recumbent pose with his legs tucked under his body, he holds a large flowering branch in his mouth, the blossoms and leaves wrapping their way over the creature's back, the stone with some minor russet markings and white mottling, 7cm. A CHINESE WHITE JADE RECTANGULAR-SECTION SNUFF BOTTLE 19TH CENTURY The plain body surmounted by a cylindrical neck and flanked by two lion masks holding rings in their mouths, all raised on a short tapering foot, the slightly recessed base incised with the hall mark Xing You Heng Tang, the pale stone of an even tone, 5.5cm. The hall Xing You Heng Tang is known to have been the residence of the Manchu official Zhai Quan, who was one of the great grandsons of the Qianlong Emperor. Zhai Quan was a famous collector of works of art during the Daoguang and early Xianfeng periods before his death in 1854. Cf. A SMALL CHINESE IMPERIAL AGATE 'HEAVENLY DOVE' VASE FOUR CHARACTER QIANLONG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1736-95 The stout body raised on a short flared foot and surmounted by a waisted neck, carved in relief with three doves standing tall to the exterior, with archaistic scrolls dividing the birds, the base finely incised with the four character reign mark, the stone a dark grey colour with paler areas and striations, 9.1cm. Cf. A diamond, jade, silver and tourmaline pendant in the shape of Buddha, the carved, jade Buddha surrounded by 12 bevel set diamonds and set into an ornate leaf shaped silver base, with an oval cut pink tourmaline to the top of the pendant and a round cut pink tourmaline to the bottom, measuring 69 x 50mm.
