Make & Model:Volkswagen, Golf GTi Date of Reg:D30YMO Colour:Green cc:1781 Fuel Type:Petrol Mileage:130000 Transmission:manual Summary:This 1987 Volkswagen Golf 1.8 GTI 16v was last driven to and from its MoT in April 2021 and then put away, after covering less than 15 miles. Registered in September 1987, it is an early MkII 16-valve as the model was only introduced in June of that year. The Jade Green colour is a rare shade. The previous owner to the vendor lowered it using coilovers and fitted a thousand pounds-worth of 15in Ronal wheels and tyres. As the vendor intended to return the VW to standard, the car will come with its original four ‘Bottle Top’ alloy wheels and tyres and all the parts for the standard suspension, still new in boxes. There are also other spare parts collected over the years. Before the car was laid up, it was given a full service including a new cambelt, water pump and radiator. A new battery has also just been fitted. The black/grey rainbow interior is original, including the radio/tape deck, but the vendor notes that the seat bolsters and headlining would benefit from some attention. The car runs and drives, but obviously hasn't been on the road since 2021. There is occasional noise from the cambelt area, which is a damaged plastic housing fouling the pulley. A new plastic housing is supplied. The vendor believes that the car will make a good project for somebody, with some bodywork in the usual Golf places. The odometer shows 132,100 miles and the last MoT expired in April 2022. Paperwork includes the V5C, assorted invoices, radio and alarm instructions and the original bill of sale from April 1987 for £12,104.65.
